Is anyone actually surprised?
Rock drummers are like athletes, in terms of stamina and exertion.
Salicylate Lists
Here is one list, in a format I find relatively pleasing. Here is another list in a format I find harder to follow, but which may be more complete, and gives numerical ranges (I’d have bolded those section headers to make it easier to follow.)
Related Plants List
Found this list interesting in my travels.

Coffee… Is There Anything It Can’t Do?
Especially since it goes so well with donuts.
Via Steven Taylor there’s indications that coffee is good for staving off MS and fighting symptoms.
Funny
The baby was away, lunging in bed with the girls taking care of him, having a blast. Now to get him something to eat, drinks all around, and maybe do some cleaning that won’t hurt my hand the way mouse and keyboard usage is doing. Seldom had it hurt that much.
Low Salt Considered Harmful
I already knew some of the harm salt reduction can cause, but this is a great post laying it all out in detail, using the relevant studies and science and history. Just a tiny taste of it:
The lowest sodium intakes — the 1500 mg/day amount some are saying we should all be eating — were associated with an 80% higher risk of cardiovascular disease compared with those consuming the highest salt diets. The lowest salt intakes were associated with a 24% higher risk of all-cause mortality.
Social Lubricant
How about a drug for that shyness?
Depression and the Brain
Looks like depression can actually alter the brain.
Big Surprise
There seems to be a link between depression and a hunger hormone. Imagine that!
Asperger’s Syndrome
The permalink to the post is broken, but a search link gets to my original post on Geek Syndrome from April 19, 2003. That was when I first heard of Asperger’s. which led me to go buy books, read sites, and feel like I’d encountered a revelation about myself (probably borderline Aspie to one side or the other) and my nephew. Due to the broken link and more to add since, I plan to repost and expand, but this puts the link handy. Actually, it was the hardcopy of wired with the famous article that led me to buy books and learn about it. The post celebrated the article and other stuff being available online.
Autism As Extreme Male Brain
Old post of mine on autism and related, logical companion to another old post I plan to repost at Blogblivion.
Odd Theory
I just yesterday wondered whether some of how the family perceive and treat me is a subconscious response to the prediction a doctor made that I’d be mentally retarded after my babyhood near death experience with meningitis, and that actual minor coordination damage that once made me seem duller than my high IQ and long since essentially normal physical ability. The last overt version, physical not mental, was at 17 when my grandmother questioned whether I’d be able to drive and should be getting a license, what with my horrible nerve deformation.
