  • @robmay I’ve gotten so used to Facebook I wanted to click “Like” on that tweet (best biz dev…) #
  • @robmay Not sure what it sold. Seemed like you were actually clustering a bunch of smaller sellers of which mine was stationary… #
  • @robmay You decided to open early and I’d been slow prepping so I had no stock. You had taken liberty of ordering cases of printer paper… #
  • @robmay and lining up buyers, so you were walking around outside of bldg, the long way, to take me to the truck to get unloaded. #
  • @robmay At one point we took shortcut through Chinese restaurant where I noticed your name tag when they called you Mr. Whatif. #
  • @robmay You set a stack of materials I’d been carrying on the floor just inside their door before we exited, staff in pursuit to take order. #
  • @robmay I’ve been having intense dreams on the night I actually get sleep of any length. #

  • Had craziest dream involving @robmay, whom I doubt would open a big store in abandoned part of a mall, or wear a name tag of “Mr. Whatif.” #
  • @ScottAllen Me, briefly. Woke up, cooling off before trying to sleep some more. Standard warm night pattern. #

Birthdays

Posted in Administrivia, Birthdays, Blogging by Jay on the July 25th, 2009

I’ve been missing birthdays because I don’t post them anymore at Blogblivion.  I need to post them somewhere, but unless I put them on a new blog, or do convert my old pMachine blog to WordPress, it’s easiest and fits best to put them here.  By using WP, I can pre-post them to go up on a schedule, rather than having to look every single day, but I am likely to look more often than I do now.  Oh, and this blog is apparently not going away, not yet anyway, so no need to hold back.

  • Always funny to see kids look much older overnight. #
  • Currently 86 degrees here. Predicted high both here and Boston today? 81. But it’s a dryish heat… #
  • Thought it was clever of Sadie this AM to clap her hands in front of my face to wake me. Or get me to open eyes and admit to being awake… #
  • Now to attempt some non-childcare and non-housework and non-assigned by future ex task that makes - ooh! - money. #

  • @robmay And that’s not even counting Social Security! Life of the party indeed. #
  • @sharone75 Florida says “hi, but did you have to bring Ryun?” #
  • @the_night_queen Next thing you know, you’ll be building yourself a house! #
  • @jsbelfiore Heck, that’s a three word description of the administration. #
  • @sarahk47 I understand they do funky transplants like that in France. Even so, it’d be no small feet… #
  • Freezer pops are a wonderful invention. #
  • Now. How to fit in something useful plus showering and grocery shopping plus making supper plus herding kids? #
  • It’s so brutal, I’d love to take them out for a ride again, just can’t afford to do much. Even the kiddie rides in mall cost $9 yesterday. #
  • Had the amusing thought that if I am stuck babysitting and unable to make money, I could take in other kids. Reverse the daycare conundrum. #

  • Turning @DigitalCoach account over to someone who can use it. #
  • If I am going to ache like this, I expect to see one hell of a t-storm before the day is out. #
  • Sounds like maybe Deb is reluctant to come home tonight from Maine, where she’s been vacationing with her boyfriend at his cabin. #
  • For me it’s no real change. I already have de facto custody of kids. If I had enough income for daycare, she could move… #
  • But visitation would involve seeing more of them than she does now, and she’d have to make the time for it. #

  • Showers and then we’re going to visit Grandma’s house, which the kids actually requested versus option of playground. #
  • @caltechgirl Mmm… cake! But you’re supposed to shove(l) it into you, not what you said. #
  • @flatironcafe Another question: Is there any milk or egg involved in the coating on the onion rings? #
  • @flatironcafe Belay that question. Just asked about onion rings when I called in order. Contains dehydrated milk. #

  • @jsbelfiore A couple actually sound good, but mostly… ick! #
  • I am on Facebook. If you know me here, don’t mind the current tendency to gripe about pending ex and want a different/larger aspect, feel… #
  • free to friend me there. Facebook.com/marshe gets you right to the correct me. #
  • Weird. Kids in bed early when it’d normally be struggle if it were a work night. Go figure. #
  • Floor in kid’s room is inexplicably less comfortable for sleeping than floor in my room. Must be better carpet pad. #
  • @flatironcafe Questions. I raved to my father about you. He asked about seasoning in fish breading & on fries. Sure none on fries, but… #
  • @flatironcafe want to check the fish. Also, are the home fries there seasoned with more than salt/pepper (onion, paprika, etc), or plain? #
  • @flatironcafe Garlic in particular makes him react so badly it might as well be an allergy. Those of us who like spicy mystify him. #
  • Busy today, but Faltiron Cafe was so good it’s hard not to go back again. Thinking Chinese for supper. Was left with $ for that sorta stuff. #
  • Chinatown, across from state police on 28, is one of the best I have had. Almost as good as Great Chow in Wollaston or place I used to… #
  • @phillymac go to on Mass Ave just up from MIT Campus Center. The one off rotary is cheap and just OK. Not sure about the other 2 locally. #
  • @phillymac Oops, 1st half that reply was not @ to you. Should be easy to find anyway. Nephew likes Tiki Kye in Carver FWIW. #
  • We like Chinatown so much that when we ran out of money to get it regularly we felt bad, wanting to make sure they stayed open. #
  • Chinatown is now closed on Mondays as a measure to cope with economy. #
  • @phillymac At this rate you could take years to do that. How about go straight to the top and hit the Fed and/or Treasury? Just sayin… #
  • @La_Shawn Mmm.. Jelly Bellies! That old cold warrior was onto something when he promulgated the consumption of those. #

  • RT @robmay: Lifestreambackup is reviewed by Small Business Trends. http://bit.ly/ejDwZ #
  • @FlatIronCafe We’re heading over there now! You know, fair warning and all… #
  • We are at @flatironcafe and have ordered. Sadie likes the train. #
  • Kids were good and @flatironcafe was awesome. Fantastic fish and chips. #
  • We’re at Pierce street playground, where it seems they have a summer day camp type of program. #
  • @FlatIronCafe Great job thinking of grilled chicken fingers. They were good, even if he left little room. Everyone loved the fries. #
  • @FlatIronCafe Freezer pops were perfect thing that everyone could have afterward. I was worried about that part. #
  • @sharone75 What’s funny is there’s not much apparent age difference from oldest participants to youngest staff. #
  • @phillymac I was telling the girls it was rainbow conditions, but couldn’t see one out the window when I checked. Nice sun shower. #
  • The leg pain feels almost gout-like. #

  • @FlatIronCafe Well, maybe Monday or Tuesday lunchtime we’ll try it. He might like something like BLT or turkey sandwich sans mayo, perhaps. #
  • Need to plow through CotC today. Skipping two weeks is quite enough. #

  • Sure hope I can get to work on time! #
  • Leg is killing me, can barely walk. Not subsiding after sitting and putting leg up this time, and it’s late to lay back down and sleep. #
  • Yesterday morning napped quite a bit and that was huge help. #
  • @FroynLaven Wow, that IS retro! And yet cool. Don’t think I ever actually ran NT 3.51, despite having a copy. Used it on Tim Loftus work PC. #
  • @FroynLaven IIRC Win95 upgrade would look at a disk or flat of 3.1x and succeed, no? Trick is to have that. And not just on 5 1/4″ floppies. #
  • @Ithildyn That’s another of those McCullough books? Loved John Adams. #
  • Thinking in next few days it may be time finally to walk kids over to @FlatIronCafe and challenge them with Allergy Boy. #
  • Looking at @FlatIronCafe menu online breakfast is right out for Henry, and rest is limited, depending on preparation. #
  • Onion rings, for instance, could have egg in batter. Some hot dogs contain dairy, weirdly (besides sodium lactate, which isn’t allergenic). #
  • We ran into 99 having burgers listed as dairy because rolls can contain milk, though we’ve been slightly lax with bread products at home. #
  • Thinking about e-book publishing, wondering if there’s anything special I need to know. #
