  • Thinking of taking kids camping 1 or more nights July 13-16 while Deb is away. Deb thought that was a cool idea. $ is object, even at… #
  • $12/night for state park camp sites. Not really an option that’s free, though, and the more rustic, even lower cost ones aren’t near us. #
  • Speaking of kids, they have slept 2 nights in a row in their room without me. Some hysterics last night, but not bad. #
  • Ended up picking Deb up at Walmart last night and we all went to Applebee’s in Raynham, which was awesome when new and hasn’t changed. #
  • Middleboro apparently has fireworks the 3rd. I’ll have to bring all or no kids, so counting on meeting people like cousins for it. #
  • Turns out I have Saturday off for the holiday, so it’ll be a short week. At least 4 days is better than 2! And it ought to be busy. #
  • Hope none of the kids actually decide the carnival looks too interesting. Sadie plans to go skydiving someday, so might like rides. #

  • Starting to wonder when my sister will get here. Need notice if I do have to call in for 3:30 shift. #
  • @pixxiespaz Don’t think during day is a problem, though that might be kind of cool any given time. She’s taking weekend off. #
  • Deb is leaving hospital at 2:00, getting ride home, then doing errands before truly landing here. #

  • Remembered but forgot appointment this AM. That bite out of day doesn’t fit my mental image of all day doing laundry and cleaning. #
  • Skipped that stuff yesterday. Getting truck from Brockton ended up 7 hours including visiting people. #
  • Kids aren’t even up yet. It’ll be all I can do to get them dropped off so I can be to 10:45 appointment. At least we’ll be home early. #
  • But then I also need to swing by Walmart, if only for pullups, which is more time. Oh well. At least I don’t have to take more days off. #
  • @samablog As good as it sounds, eh? #

  • T-Mobile service lapses are starting to irritate me. #
  • @robmay That was exactly what I said when I saw that link in my morning e-mail. But then, I always though Reich was an idiot. #
  • @adriadc You’re not? You sure used to be! #
  • Didn’t hear back from Michelle, Mom can’t leave Grandma overnight. She’s asking cousin’s GF to help us out with babysitting. Maybe I will… #
  • Check with my sister even before hearing back. Deb will probably be home Friday, so it’s 2 nights. #
  • In midst of errands centerred on getting truck home. Kids impatient. #
  • @shurakai Bea aid you have to file a whatchavallit’ which makes sense if you figure dor has to take direction not do deciding. #

  • That was an adventure. Wasn’t expecting the place she was in to be same building as Children’s Hospital. Comedy of errors over visitation. #
  • 99 Restaurant was awesome and kids were as close to perfect as can be expected. They were sports about long ride. #
  • Kids didn’t get to see their mother. I wasn’t clear they’d be unable. She wasn’t clear I was bringing them. #
  • @Shurakai Well, she’ll just have to move back home then, if you’re supporting her. :> #
  • @Shurakai Speaking of your kids, wonder if it’d be beyond possible to have the other daughter stay on couch 2-3 nights so I can go to work. #
  • @AttilaGirl http://helpiranelection.com/ #
  • Funny, called into work yesterday AM so don’t have to go, woke at what would have been last minute to be there on time, no alarm. #
  • Wow, took until just now, but work did call to check on me. Said let them know, regarding later in the week. #
  • Remembered this AM on waking that Deb also had asked for a few other items, like shampoo. Oops! Surprised she didn’t mention it after. #
  • Firefox has started staying alive as a process on Vista machine, so FF won’t start next time until I end process from task list. #
  • Way too much to do. Really need to start. #
  • Plan was to be a whirlwind of action: dishes, cleaning, laundry, bureaucracy, still need shopping, arranging babysitting, etc etc… #
  • If I can’t get someone to crash here overnight so I can work from 3 - 7 AM or so, what the hell will I do about, say, 8 AM - 5 PM or so? #
  • I can so understand the temptation that’d lead a parent to leave the kids alone. Hey, they’re in bed, it’s night! But no. #
  • Just had to Google to find out who the f are “Jon and Kate” as I had no clue. #
  • Person 1 asked to stay over so I can go to work Wed, thru possibly Fri nights. Next an e-mail, then see what kids are up to, work on house. #
  • Important e-mail done. Natives sound restless. #

  • Deb is in hospital 1 - 3 days. Have to call work tomorrow, get Tues off, arrange to pick up her truck, ton of other stuff. #
  • Deb ought to get to finish the book she’s reading. Not allowed to have her cell phone or her knitting & crochet stuff, but can have book. #
  • #cotc Carnival of the Capitalists for 6/22/09: http://bit.ly/4TNDW #
  • @Shurakai That’s ridiculous. Maybe they are basing it on a default age thing rather than facts on the ground or as agreed between you? #
  • @Shurakai Since IIRC the default now assumes 4 year college/age of 22. Which still doesn’t mean 3 more years… But emancipation should rule #
  • Can I get us all dressed, get package at PO, get to bank 20+ mins away by 3:00? I have an hour, total. Then a run to store follows. #

  • It’s actually soon enough I may not be able to get time off, and long enough I can’t possibly justify taking 3 days unpaid. #

  • About as dead on my feet as I’ve ever felt upon getting out of bed in the morning. Must slam down at least 2 coffees. #
  • This fits my perception rents have dropped, having eyed them lately in prep for moving sometime: http://bit.ly/1LWfS2 #
  • Deb had assumed as foreclosures went crazy that rents would rise in response to people being added to the pool of those who rent. #
  • Which made sense, though I wasn’t sure that’d be the case but couldn’t have given a logical reason why. Assumed she was right. #
  • Writing documents describing each of the three businesses we claimed on taxes, as required by Massachusetts doing a desk audit. Exciting! #
  • I love the part about having to supply a client list. For Deb’s I just pointed them to neatlytangled.etsy.com to see what it is, etc. #

  • @chucksimmins ROFL! #
  • It’s cute seeing Valerie be old enough to appreciate the song Valleri by the Monkees. #
  • Kids didn’t watch avidly end to end, but seemed to like original Escape to Witch Mountain. Sadie asked me to play it again when it ended. #
  • Yay! Got rogue T-Mobile bill corrected from 168.53 to 111.27, within $3 of what I’d expect. Someone goofed. Hope it can be paid tomorrow… #
  • That one has to be from money I don’t control. Next one maybe I can get out of the part of my pay that doesn’t go to rent. #
  • And I went through regular channels, but welcome @TMobile_USA to Twitter. #

  • Shoot, just remembered it’s Sunday and I haven’t touched CotC yet. #
  • @listener42 Awesome enough that I noticed it in places like that, definitely. #
  • @phillymac How’s that name thing going? For some reason the other day I though Gregory (Greg) sounded good. #
  • @phillymac So she liked Xavier too, eh? Long as it’s not Xavier Charles? The only Y middle I could think of was Yosef, but XYZ FTW. #
  • Anyway, can walk through living room now, most of toys I picked up are staying away, need to finish what got swept into kitchen. #
  • Which fits great with supper finishing. Fish fillets and potato puffs and maybe some peas.Fish is a good mom not here food. #
  • She’s actually going to be home next around 11:30 PM tomorrow. Avoided it today, but will have to run to store with kids tomorrow. #

  • Hate having chest congestion this painful. #
  • Apparently the something going around work has stopped being casual about afflicting me. #
  • Oh well, off to bed before the children explode. #
  • Another exciting 4 hours of sleep starts in a moment! Ooh… #
  • So that’s about 19.5 hours for the week, I believe highest since I started here. #
  • If it were that every week I could cover my half the rent and everything else I must pay without relying on anything in her name. #
  • Well, must pay not counting my first grand a month should go to debt. Have to factor that into any notion of required income. #
  • Can’t stay awake! If not for kids, I’d have slept nonstop since 7 AM. Like that’s what one of the cold symptoms is, beyond normal sleepy. #
  • @ErikReagan @dasgrafik Thanks! I’d sort of glanced at segments in poking around, but hadn’t put it together. I’ll try that today. #
  • Managed to get “marshe” on Facebook. #
  • Automatically thought of jaysolo first, as that’s been everything else, but if I’m pointedly collapsing identities… #
  • @sharone75 That made me think “Pokemon party.” #
  • Expression Engine recognizes that (segment_1) is a valid expression, as it’s supposed to be built in, but treats it as if it’s null, empty. #
  • @ernieattorney The hundreds of acres of woods surrounding my house, 1/3 of a mile from the nearest other house. I’ll always miss it. #
  • Since I don’t know precisely what segment_1 will contain so I know what to put after ==, I was trying to return the value. #
  • Ah! Segments are for the parts after base of URL? That’s no help. #
  • And it appears to treat the root as not the domain, but the gyrations that come after. Definitely not gonna do it, unless by negative. #
  • That is, if segment_1 is nothing then it’s the home page. Hmmm… #
  • Yes! {if segment_1 == “”} will show something only on home page without the …index.php/weblog/… crap that’s for posts & categories. #
  • Just watched Stardust with kids. Liked it a lot. Not what I’d planned to do! #

  • My nagging wannabe cold seems to have turned genuinely congestive. Go me! #
  • @TWalk Aw come on, you know you want to… please? #
  • Been beating my head against old Expression Engine blog trying to figure how to code it to detect is homepage and show link only if there. #
  • Time to feed kids, so enough geeking out. Plus it’ll be bedtime soon! 1:30 comes early. Mom unit should be home by 2:30. She’s sleeping. #
  • Armed with sleeping pills, at Mike’s, trying to get kid-free catch up sleep to help her feel better so she has less trouble sleeping. #

  • The girls seem to like birch beer. They’ve not to date been soda drinkers, except a little grape, the only other flavor they found okay. #
  • Should have been to bed earlier but oh well. Feel truncated by outing, fun as it was. #
  • My Mike radar is broken. Used to feel it when he was there. Last time I thought so, he wasn’t, this time the opposite. #
  • It was a bit like my speed trap intuition. It WAS trying to tell me but wasn’t gut level and ignored the thoughts. #
  • My body appears to be intent on finally dropping below my low to date. For those just joining us, that was 233, down from 308. #
  • Today was trying to claim 231 well after getting home from work and pigging out, though some of time it said 233 - 234 instead. #
  • Augh #

  • 3 AM doesn’t seem so bad, but then it’s hard to wrap head around leaving house at 2:45 to get there. 2. AM. And change. Yawn. #
  • My weight somehow is almost back at my low this morning. Maybe I’ll drop below it sometime. #
  • @pixxiespaz Happy birthday! For some reason it made me think of old house in Halifax, as you’re old enough to remember living there. #
  • RT @jsbelfiore The theory of economic “green shoots” is lovely until people realize we’ve planted trillions in annuals. #
  • @jsbelfiore It’s just such a clever way to put it. #
  • About time to think about getting ready, if I am doing the movie and shopping thing with Sadie. Waiting for mom unit to have slept more. #
  • Pixar outdid themselves with UP. Sadie loved it and was more than ready for theater. #
  • Just before I left, Henry was having an allergic skin reaction to most likely my scrambled burger gravy. Fascinating. #
  • Contains bullion, oil, flour, onion, burger, bay leaf, oregano, thyme, red pepper, celery, a couple others. Nothing bad. #
  • Sadie’s meal came with apple sauce, which she is using to dip her pizza. Kids are so open minded. #
  • Seems kind of silly to serve apple sauce but not have spoons. #

  • Yesterday someone calls me by name. Sadie says “His name is Dad! Remember that.” #
  • Couldn’t see screen when I was taking them, but got some amazing pics of kids at beach, and more today at playground. Been too few lately. #
  • Really hate the burning neighbors. All of them in waft range. #
  • Not that it may be the only reason for sore throat, but doesn’t help. #
  • Insomnia rocks! Um… not. #
  • 4+ hours every day would start to add up. Better not to get injured in the process though. #
  • #cotc Carnival of the Capitalists for 6/8/09: http://bit.ly/JB6d6 #
  • Now there’s a problem: I can’t read the bill I have to call T-Mobile about. Maybe I should call for eye exam while it’s foremost in mind. #
  • Total should be about $108, including new Blackberry, not $163. Looks like servuice change on 3/23 actually happened 4/22. And other dates! #
  • T-Mobile was clearly very confused. One of the mistakes was $6 charge for web access on canceled line, no other charges for said line. #
  • Tried T-Mobile’s online support form, ran out of field characters, didn’t get to point out their odd wrong-date cancellation as aside. #
  • @sharone75 Maybe I can wander by tomorrow. I am going to attempt to take Sadie to see Up and/or go grocery shopping. #
  • Darn, Wareham is only showing Up in 3D. Looks like Kingston is only 2D. 1st movie in theater for Sadie, why complicate it? And add cost. #
  • Kingston WAS 2nd choice, has earlier showing, 12:45, and is otherwise convenient. #

  • It was an awesome day, except for Val’s total breakdown tantrum on waking in car after we got home, made worse by boy next door being there. #
  • Need to do some CotC tweets so I’d better do those before I even go take Henry out of tub or I’m sunk. #
  • @Shurakai This totally didn’t come to the Blackberry as it should have, so didn’t see it to relay the hi to Nic. #
  • @Shurakai You came up though, in comparing experiences. #
  • I had fun with kids, everyone loved them and thought they were Cutest Ever, but not much of a visit with friends, like two groups separate. #
  • That is, it was me and kids, my friends, and a sort of minimal connection. It WAS nice to have a safe, adult-laden place I could relax some. #
  • Usually it’s me and the kids, period. If other adults, strangers, if other places, not kid-friendly or whatever you’d call the distinction. #
  • @Pistachio “Just let it shine, within your mind, and show you the colors that are real.” #
  • I forgot exactly one thing: bathing suit for me, to put on something for wading, since I own no short. Pants rolled up nicely, I’m so thin. #
  • Everyone should sleep tonight! Then massive backlog to do tomorrow. #
  • @pixxiespaz Yeah, was afraid it was something like that. #
  • Having trouble sleeping. Maybe now that I’ve eaten and unscratched my throat. Looks like I am not alone… #
  • Trying bedtime again. Val seems to be having same problem. #
  • Augh! Twitter Tools will NOT create a CotC post today! #
  • Heh. Looking through old baby pics at AV found Heliumtology and found I was only Google hit for it. #
  • What’s Your Gift? - http://tinyurl.com/mwjnvd - Your Gift is Imagination #blogthings #
  • Time to round up kids and paychecks, get out the door to bank, maybe store, maybe pay landlord, maybe let them hit playground. Rain coming. #
  • One stop down. Funny, I’ve come to think of it as mr and kids and expect to have them with me automatically. #
  • It’ll be weird being entirely fee of that, and off as I don’t mind so much except for extent. #
  • Free of, not fee of. #
  • Being home is so traumatic maybe I should setup a tent at a playground and stay there. But then they’d lose their cups and minds there. #
  • Still no sign of Twitter Tools creating a post on the new blog. Assume if I wait long enough it’ll do it a day or 2 after scheduled. #
  • Henry wants to climb on me and nap. Val hasn’t had a drink and I apparently have to dismantle the place to find the cup she had earlier. #
  • Kids are funny. #
