Tersosity & Verbosity

Twitter Updates for 2009-02-28

  • Bedtime. Only half hour late tonight. Managed to get DVD drive in @neatlytangled’s computer, recognized, just not tested. #
  • Dishes even got put away, but backlog of more for tomorrow. Forgot to take meds. Swear those make me less grouchy. #
  • Then again, they numb your brain and can make you so mellow you become a Fail Slug sans cadre of helpful airlift birds like the whale. #
  • I’ll have to use my me time before work for a shower or go dirty. Sleep matters more, so on that note off I go. #
  • Not that I won’t tweet from bed when I lay down and can’t sleep, but hey. #
  • @neatlytangled Ouch! That sounds painful indeed. #
  • @neatlytangled An yay the raise! Don’t want to reply to text at this hour. #
  • Woke just ahead of alarm, set for 2:00 as I am working toward 1:30 gradually. #
  • Not feeling motivated, even hard to grab a second coffee, let alone shower, work, whatever. #
  • @pixxiespaz Speaking of which, I need to remember to give Henry his vitamins more often. He’s totally going to shrivel without them. #
  • Can’t get into writing, made worse knowing I need to read and edit entire 2/25 post as written to this point. Prefer to spew whole posts. #
  • Feels too late for shower, but back pain will be helped by one. Guess I’ll try to do it but fast. #
  • A long, heavy shift, makes up timewise for light week if not spectacularly. Last day for a major shipper. #
  • Most smalls are from a major mail order biz. Got big disc to lure & help establish our home elivery service. #
  • Renewal time: they wanted disc rate cut to below our cost, said no, competition gave in, prob at a loss too. #
  • @neatlytangled I felt the buzz and almost pulled this out on road to see if it was you.. Will head back out. #
  • Meant to tweet I saw led switch on coffeemaker was unlit, touched to be sure was on, switch *fell out*!! Wtf ovah? #
  • So figured if not fixable, presume not, either I could get one this am or make o & Deb get one. #
  • Just ate butternut & coconut donuts in memory of Donut Girl, @neatlytangled’s apparent would-be competition way back when. #
  • Donut Girl flirted just hard enough for me actually to realize she might possibly be flirting and make me wonder “well now what” cluelessly. #
  • @sharone75 Adult incontinence product. #
  • @sharone75 Of those I’d place Twitter the youngest. #
  • And one of them I’d say never, because hello, lamest Geocities wannabe crud bane of the real web ever. #
  • Pointedly took some initiative at work today, declaring how they had me assigned “silly” and confirming it was a good idea to switch. #
  • Enjoyed having the manager near shift end tell me about his logistical failure, changing things to improve them, worsening instead. Cool. #
  • Not cool it went bad. Told him that’s why you try, learn, try different to get it right. Cool to be in on it. But they know my background. #
  • Last night I was all excited about today being yay my 2 days off start motivational get lots done woohoo. Now it’s like… whatever. #
  • New DVD drive no software, XP. Put DVD in, offers Win Media Player, then fails apparently no codec to recognize content. Alt DVD player? #
  • That is, suggestions RE possible alternative free DVD playing software that would work & take place of MS silliness? Buy Mac not an option. #
  • @Shurakai 14-ish sounds reasonable. #
  • That’s 2 enthusiastic recommendations for VLC Media Player. #
  • @CotC http://tinyurl.com/ac72qj #
  • @RickWolff You might check out http://www.regtek.com/. Former colleague does work for them. Haven’t migrated entirely but expect to. #
  • Apparently I’d forgotten RegTek didn’t take PayPal, just CC. How odd. #
  • Ooh, Henry got off me. I can type freely and/or do other stuff. #
  • @MikeG1 We’re already saying that and it’s not happening until tomorrow and Monday. We want spring! #
  • RT @ScottAllen Giving away 50 free guitar lessons to bloggers: http://tinyurl.com/c5wzyo. (I’d be more a piano or voice candidate.) #
  • http://tinyurl.com/dbpglc #
  • They say that breaking up is hard to do. Now I know, I know that it’s true. #
  • Gotta feed the monsters. Hooray for leftover spaghetti. They probably won’t be amused, or eat much. Big lunch. #
  • Henry ate the better part of a soy spread PB substitute & blueberry jam sandwich. Rest of us, grilled cheese, mine with tomato. #
  • Supper more successful than expected. Baths now! French bread slices drizzled with honey are popular. #

  • Supper was pleasant and leftover-busting, but I just blew post-meal bathtime on e-mail rather than dishes. Oh well. #
  • A mere 72 minutes overshoot on planned bedtime. Oh well. Still going to try the new plan of getting up 1:30 AM or so. #
  • If the post-nasal crap would stop I’ be asleep, espite stitch in left shoulder/back area. #
  • Getting up early as planned is hard. Woke easy enough from bladder alarm, but feels awful. #
  • Looking at older tweets, apparently the letter D key on Blackberry got balky well before I noticed it had. aiction? No, addiction. Sheesh. #
  • Struggling not to have things I say turn out sounding bad. #
  • Pecking away at my blogiversary/blogging post. Almost time to put it down and get ready for work. Maybe a 3rd coffee? 32 oz seems inadequate #
  • Wondering what a day of daycare for 3 costs. Wondering what 15-18 hours a week in-house babysitting for 3 costs. #
  • Gonna make myself late doing math. Best guess 39k bare min stay same, 50-60k progress. Off to work! #
  • If you plan not to stop home after work on way to Dr & errands that inclue bank, taking check with is good idea. #
  • The getting up super early, 3 mugs coffee, early to work thing? Rocks. #
  • This is early. In pk lot at 7:38 for an 8:15 despite having to run home & stop to fill the tank. #
  • @sharone75 Indeed! So warm I worked in T-shirt entire shift. 2 full trailers in under 3 hrs, too, great for me. #
  • Very efficient having you fill out a survey about today’s visit before you actually see the doctor. #
  • I figure it helps give the employees in their bureaucracy plenty of work, collecting & spinning results. #
  • Done. 150-something/100-odd so I am ordered to remember to take the meds every day before I come back in 2 weeks. #
  • Pleased to be the early patient who helped them be on track for day. Guess it’s off to bank now. #
  • Unless I want to treat myself to breakfast or visit my old client or something first. Have a while I can run around. #
  • 20 mins to kill before bank opens. Maybe I *should* go get an egg mcmuffin. Do they still sell those? #
  • Was set to visit old client if only to say hi to one of the secretaries, but traffic felt like it was telling me not. #
  • Plus it’s like what am I stopping for? Hey look, still a failure, but thought I’d upate you on my failitude. Appealing #
  • Seriously, though, not impossible for a visit to lead to work, for firm or someone there, shades of when #
  • If I was seen in the bldg when firm was client, ppl woul remember to ask or have me do stuff might miss otherwise. #
  • What a nice day. I could do without the numb though. Oh well. #
  • Well fuck. The truck doesn’t want to start. Act like no juice, then if juice, no ignition. #
  • Was trying to figure who I coul call to at least try jumping it. Duh. We have other car, just means packing kids. #
  • Apparently bad conncetion on bat cable. #
  • @shartlen Helicopter crash?? Was at BoA on 44 Raynham, now at Wal-Mart Raynham, if that tells you. #
  • Almost hate to turn truck off but coul prob clean cable while waiting for Deb & kids. #
  • @shartlen Well holy cow! Talk about a close call to us. You too, really. #
  • Well, starte right back up. Iagnostic was actually headlight. Jiggle cable, make them go on, yay power. #
  • @Shurakai Yeah, was thinking wait til home cuz I have sanpaper there. Otherwise’d just be scraping w/metal tools. #
  • Actual word on Grandma! She’s being moved to LifeCare in WB’wat today, starting active therapy tomorrow, doing well. #
  • Turned out the positive terminal was heavily crudded with corrosion, negative was pristine, as if one but not other got replaced sometime. #
  • Cleaned it off enough it ought to be good for a while. Answered question of whether battery disconnect would turn of check engine light. #
  • @CotC http://bogusgold.powerblogs.com/posts/1235513084.shtml #
  • I seem to have explosive decompression of temperament late in the day when I have been awake too long & still have too much to do. #
  • Just got out from under napping baby, managed to ease him cheerfully awake, but kids completely ignored me when I asked for space in kitchen #
  • I’m disgusted that nothing I’d had in mind to make can be done in the available time, and tonight 7:30 *really* has to be bedtime. #
  • I’m also mystified to learn there is an a in temperament and not just finding another mistake in the Firefox spellchecker. #
  • At least the oldest is sad that I went on strike & closed self in office when they wouldn’t leave the kitchen. #
  • Where she remains, pounding on my door. Way to motivate me! #
  • Still have to empty dishwasher & strainer, install DVD drive, make & serve supper, give baths, take shower, whatever I’m forgetting. #
  • Was trying to remember when I first got my current doctor. Looking through old e-mails, apparently summer 2002. Wow. #
  • Sittercity seems almost like OnForce for people who do various sitting services. 273 within 10 miles, a slew under 1 mile. Fascinating. #
  • $10 - 20/hr seems to be the collective norm, with some 10-15 or whatever. I’d guessed 50-75 per 5 hrs for the 3 kids, so close enough. #
  • Heh. If I needed to fill, say, 9 hrs/day even at $10 that’d be 1st 450 of my net. If I were sole support *really* covering all = 108k gross. #
  • OK, *really* need to go throw food at the brats. And me. I need to eat sometimes too. Start of weekend tomorrow might inspire real cooking. #
  • Sadie *really* wanted spaghetti with meat sauce, so I decided it wouldn’t take *that* long to toss together. Besides, bought Italian bread. #

  • @pixxiespaz The elder of my sister’s 2 kids. Computer Science. #
  • Ended up posting a placeholder for my incomplete 6th blogiversary and whither my blogging future post, to mark the day but finish as able. #
  • I should check the bathing kids. Er… especially since Val got herself out of tub & is walking around dripping asking to come out of tub. #
  • Switching sleep venues is traumatic. #
  • White noise aiction is a terrible thing. #
  • Messing with Blackberry is all I can o while failing to sleep but it rives baby crazy an keeps him active. #
  • Very weird moving back to the bed. Not as directly more comfy as you might expect, mainly just different though. Had to sleep on back. #
  • Back wouldn’t be possible on floor, but offset to making arms & upper back better was numb/tingly feet & legs, freaky feeling. #
  • Let’s see if I can go fall back asleep. #
  • It woul be just my luck for what is superfically more comfy to be ifferently ba. #
  • Think this is a careful what you wish for scenario, unless I am just having that ba a night body-wise. #
  • Dddddd My letter d key seems to be dying. Great. But really I should try to stop pain tingle numb & frickin sleep. #
  • Finally got comfy & right position then night flew way too fast. #
  • I was absolute barely last minute. Then Val woke up. If I am late again I’ll finally get written up. 2 of those=gone. #
  • Otherwise a great shift, if only 3 hrs 1 min. Talked management with one of mgrs again, got story on a firing. #
  • Hitting store for small grocery run I ended up eferring yesterday afternoon. #
  • New plan. I will shoot to get up 1:30 AM workdays. Since nobody will be asleep in my office, I will do stuff freely, be able to leave early. #
  • That should at least partly solve prob of when can I write, or do even an hour of “requires concentration” activity. Like day off in slices. #
  • Even if FredCo isn’t forever, I’d rather not get fired for lateness, though it beats being fired for faking a work injury to delay firing. #
  • Maybe I can finish my post now, though Henry is mothing me and trying to steal mouse. Hello? Why won’t “update” do anything? #
  • I seem to be putting the intentional in verbosity today. #
  • Ready for my nap. Maybe eating was a bad idea. #
  • Was kidding about nap. Body was not. Feel like I’ll never be warm again, after waking. #
  • Maybe a shower. Soon as I give Sadie the lunch she refused a few hours ago, so she can refuse supper in a couple. #
  • Invoked Deb calling me to touch base, just by thinking how weird it was for her to be out of house but not have exchanged texts or anything. #
  • Friend she’s off with bought something too cool to resist, but big so it needs them to come get her truck, wanted me not to be surprised. #
  • Girls having snack while baby naps. They want hot ogs for supper, not burritos as I was thinking. Silly kids. #
  • First, a shower and then install Deb’s DVD drive. #
  • If I knew a nap would render the boy insane, I might have forced him to stay awake. 1:45 to bedtime and I must make supper not coddle. #
  • Post-nap trauma coddling done finally. Yay. Guess the DVD drive won’t get installed today. Heck, not enough time for supper & baths left. #
  • I must sound like I’m made of complain. Just get so frustrated sometimes. Well, much of the time. #

  • Henry just ate almost 4 full servings of the macaroni, ham & peas concoction I made, served with parm cheese for those of us unallergic. #
  • Simple: Cook/drain mac, cook peas, cut ham cubes. Add peas to mac, soy margarine, dab canola oil, ham, pepper, garlic powder, stir, heat. #
  • Henry needed benadryl when he woke from nap. Strawberries? Maybe. Something bothered him today. Bedtime now! #
  • Not amused with Val having woken me under an hour.into night of sleep. #
  • Mondo hours to sleep works better if you stay asleep for those hours. #
  • Read the time on Blackberry as 11-odd. Apparently was 1-odd as it’s now after 2. Darn. Go back to sleep 20 mins nfg. #
  • So weird being this early. Wish I had slept more. #
  • Weird to be 6 mins early even after 2 small errands on the way. #
  • Heavy day, but we rocked so done early for the volume. Amusing manmagement antics. #
  • Mgr put me clearing ics until clear then on last trailer. Ics were endless, kept going going thinking was silly. #
  • PT mgr comes along wtf says mgr doesn’t know how to manage unload. I was right. I’ll do as asked til absurd for boss. #
  • @sharone75 Wish I weren’t! #
  • Did too good a job comforting Val when she stirred & cried before I left. Henry found mom, but Val stayed in office. #
  • Just got used to them vacating so I could get home & sit at computer without disturbing them. #
  • Anyway, is prob a bad trait that if someone in authority wants me to do something absurd, I tend to “work to rule” & #
  • Wait for them to realize what they’re having me do is nuts and change course. If they don’t, I tend to perceive them #
  • As being crazy, incompetent, stupid, whatever, lose respect. OTOH more likely to do wtr in 1st place if already signs #
  • That if I tried to point out their illogic or suggest a better way I’d be maligned, ignored, scolded, whatever. #
  • If it takes 4 tweets it should probably be a blog post. Happy 6th blogiversary to me, speaking of that. #
  • Can’t stay awake! 32 oz of coffee since I got home might as well be water. #
  • Took a brief nap after my last tweet. That’s much better. Now to figure out what to do with my “day off” that’s not a day off. #
  • My days off are Sun/Mon, Deb’s are Wed/Thu. She tries to use Thu as REAL fun day off. Wed is closest to that I can come, thus arrangement. #
  • I just don’t have plans like to go out, meet friends, that kind of thing. Have to hit groceries at least 1 store, maybe another errand. #
  • Main joy is feeling of lower parent stress because I can offload kids if needed. Except I have to be back by 5:00. #
  • @Lagwolf 14 inches? Ouch! Here near Cape Cod it feels like winter might just be over, knock on wood. #
  • That was a yummy lunch! Leftover ham, maple bacon, cheesy fried potato, carrots, cauliflower with cheese. #
  • @EternalWanderer Thought since mom hasn’t returned my call from yesterday that I’d see if any word on grandma has arrived in your house. #
  • Should I be concerned that I have been at her house both times my grandmother has fallen and broken a hip? Feel like bearer of bad luck. #
  • @sharone75 Weren’t you keeping that in a jar by the door? #

  • Finally! Getting to bed. Deb is taking her time getting home in an effort to make this work. #
  • Not sleeping comfortably. Good way to start the work week. #
  • Dreading laying back down between Val & Henry for more “sleep.” Space enough there for another small child, not me. It hurts. #
  • Really, I should sleep more. Been up long enough to recover from the discomfort & squeeze back down between the omnipresent kids. #
  • Laying down made legs tingly numb, but freaky thing is hypersensitive “don’t toich me” feeling. #
  • Not hardly, since it’s the floor doing the “touching” and not like I can sleep standing. #
  • Finally fell asleep. Really well. Never hers 2nd alarm. Heard 1st alarm from under pillow at 3:34. I lease at 3:30. #
  • Which makes this a short shift starting at 3:58 instead between 3:42 and 3:45. Yay. #
  • To sleep where the kids want between them Blackberry goes under pillow, much of night in my hand. Not working for me. #
  • That’s 3000th *post* or *blog post* or *blog entry* NOT “3000th blog.” I’ve had blogs numbering in the teens, but blogs aren’t posts. #
  • Stayed out of my office when I got home, thinking kids remained asleep in here. Finally looked. Forgot they tend to migrate after I leave. #
  • What Kind of Juice Are You? - http://tinyurl.com/ck4sgc - You Are Apple Juice #blogthings #
  • Evicting baby from lap so I can do more dishes. Exciting! He was traumatized by hiving sisters, which required sitting on me 40 minutes. #
  • OTOH the sister in question spent most of that time waiting for a drink I refused to put him down to get. #
  • Karma. It’s not just for chameleons anymore. #
  • It’s worth buying a ham just for it being favoritest food of the kids. #
  • @pixxiespaz I remember how nice it was when school was FINALLY going to be over. Even if mine went on longer. #
  • Kids ended up with lunch of ham, strawberries, apple, and dried fruit. Enough with the potato chips constantly. #
  • These kids make every littlest thing harder. #
  • Need a nap! #
  • Which might have happened, but for the bladder, and now I have reminded kids I am here. #
  • Torn between domestic chores and more writing. Not even counting correspondence, but including potentially leading to income, ultimately. #
  • @Shurakai Um, yeah. Citibank is the fount of evil at which Bank of America merely laps thirstily. #
  • Baby is napping not on me, great effort, and all my energy now is diverted into keeping girls from waking him. #
  • Every maybe a minute I pause to explode in a crescendo of “shhh, SHhhh, SHHHH!!!!!” #
  • Val brought me new belt to untangle. Asked if she’d pooped. Figured out that was smell of belt material. Yuck. #

  • Shoot! Thought I’d be home hours ago to finish CotC. Now I have a crowded hour. #
  • Henry slept an absurd amount last night, so it was kind of impressive how much he slept on me this afternoon. #
  • Drinks, make sure everyone had enough of a snack, try not to eat all the PB cookies, then back to work. #
  • @EternalWanderer Yep, I didn’t specify earlier, but she broke the other side this time. #
  • Late! Time to get these twerps to sleep. Me too! Sunday night shouldn’t end up being a short sleep night. #
  • Again, the sleepy but awake interlude around time I’d normally go to work, even after late bedtime. #
  • Back to sleep now! I hope. #
  • Seems like I have a choice of laying so either right knee or left foot hurts, but both legs esp right numb regardless. #
  • Would have loved more sleep. #
  • #cotc Carnival of the Capitalists for 2/23/09: http://bizosphere.com/?p=156 or read/follow @CotC to catch the tweets. #
  • @phillymac What! We’re not enthusiastic enough for you? Sheesh. #
  • Ordered @neatlytangled a DVD-RW for her PC. Hope it’s good, for $19.99 & free shipping. #
  • Next: Renew some domains well ahead of time so no worries & no danger to ones that make vastly more than enough to cover registration. #
  • @Shurakai Why yes. Yes it would. #
  • Mostly cleaning & working on getting ham in the oven. Trying to orchestrate 7:30 bedtime all around as Deb is 11-8 today. #
  • That was a bad shift because I never forced bedtime to precede her arrival home & then that delayed sleep, so I’d get 3 hrs, be zombie. #
  • Speaking of being a zombie I’d better take my blood pressure pills. #
  • Annoying to go over the laundry list in my head of projects I need to do and realize how overwhelming it will be even if I just chip at it. #
  • Thinking about my childhood best friend Tara. Associate her w/amethyst, strong willed people, my deference to girls being in charge. #
  • Val’s adorable fake tiara & jewelry (she’s a princess!) has fame amethyst, always my favorite non-precious gem from rockhound days w/Tara. #
  • Hallelujah! Baby just let me put him down to finish nap Not On Me. #
  • Put on my A/V troubleshooting hat. #
  • Discovered Fox station we get better is broadcasting content on hd & endless loop re switching on analog. #
  • Other Fox station should come in almost as well but is just fuzz, along with a couple others. So much for delay. #
  • Otherwise think I got my answer: connector on other tv was cause of problems. #
  • Tried inventing non-dairy mashed potatoes, let kids taste, have Val begging “give me more! Give me more!” #
  • Just solved it by giving them beaters to lick. #
  • Big meal done. Kids in tub recovering from hair washings. 2.5 hours until bedtime. Sad it’ll go so fast, all eaten by gottado stuff. #
  • Funny for a kid to be begging for something on tasting it ahead of meal, then not touch it on her plate. #
  • Just remembered I need a shower. Wasn’t even factoring that into all 2.5 hrs left in day being allocated already. Oops. #
  • @neatlytangled http://www.popsci.com/node/32333 Especially the 1st page, which we had totally nailed. #
  • Val is asleep. Henry wants to be. Trying to resist & “finish” in kitchen before bed. #

  • 2 cans of tuna ought to allow me more than 1/4 of a sandwich. Not even that, had I made as much no mayo as Henry could have eaten. #
  • Dunno about allergy, but Henry has absolutely no interest in strawberry, period. Totally unlike blueberries, cranberries, apples, etc. #
  • He also didn’t like eggs or peanuts. #
  • Tuna or not, guess I should have some chips, maybe an apple. Never fully lost the feeling today that body was reacting to being underfed. #
  • @gmtrojan Yep. We need temporal SQL statements. #
  • @EternalWanderer Indeed! It’s a mystery to me how I came out as if I had such parents when I didn’t. All internal. #
  • @EternalWanderer At least, no overt or memorable influence of that type, though I am sure that they were factor, just not concise/clear one. #
  • Let’s see if the little ones have flooded the bathroom yet. And remove them, either way. #
  • And bedtime. Soon as I take Maalox, because hello, I ate tuna, even if I got little of it. #
  • Funny, nights I have alarm, wake up way early. Tonight dead sleep til what would have been barely on time to go work. #
  • Cept I get to check what is on Blackberry, tweet a couple times, then sleep more. Yay sleep! #
  • Did I say something about now going back to sleep? Silly me. Not sure I’ll be able to fit back between kids if get up. #
  • Sleepy again. That’s better. #
  • It’s 8:44? Wow! Could stay sleeping if Henry weren’t joyfuly beating me wakeful, but still. #
  • Shocking! Henry’s preferred activity for the morning is to sit on my lap. #
  • This is boring and not making my morning. #thebabyisafuckingleach #
  • Well, one of things I had in mind this AM is out. I had barely enough time and that’s gone, but at least he noticed he could play w/sisters. #
  • Shoot, it’s almost time to get out of here. How’d that happen? Showered sooner rather than later bc Val heard “shower” & showed with towel. #
  • @phillymac Wow!!! That’s so… cool? Guess I’m not the only armed and dangerous one. #
  • @pixxiespaz Hey, where are you!? Missing the cake & sibs beating up Gary. #
  • My grandmother fell. Lookls like broken hip. Ambulance on way. Sheesh. #
  • Looks like thigh and knee, not hip after all. They just scooped her out the door. #
  • @pixxiespaz Darn school. No word on gram yet. Bea will go up after things settle out a bit. #
  • No word on grandma yet. #
  • @Shurakai Of course it’s delayed! Duh. #
  • We were right. It’s a broken hip. She told the emts what sound not him, but way she acted was hip. #

  • Augh. Tired & time for bd but same time want to be able to keep going and do the other 20 hours or so of day I’d like to accomplish. #
  • The little one is going to have to stop napping on me w/o being able to transition to another surface. Disasters not worth it. #
  • It briefly looked like the girls had even managed to lose my work badge, used for opening security gate & punching in/out. Glad I found it. #
  • Oh well. Maybe even with birthday stuff I can get housework done in my couple days off, starting after I get home in the morning. #
  • Feel like something big I am forgetting. Not just scraping plates, tying trash, making ME supper, but something important. Hmmm. #
  • Forgetting to eat would be why I just weighed in at 240, no normal course of day upward fluctuation to be seen. Oops. Oh well. Shutting up. #
  • Hate waking up too early by just enough not to sleep more, and beyond cold to boot. #
  • Looks like FE saw the Robin Eggs I got her and raised me Cadbury Caramel Eggs. She must still love me too! Yim! #
  • Still wondering if I’m the one who sent a 130 lb package up conveyor. Poor Jay in the towe. Could have rolled on. #
  • That is, you aren’t always lifting packages so much as maneuvering them, getting them rolled or dropped onto rollers. #
  • Isn’t it funny most ppl called Jay are actually Jason? Reverse was I used Jason as one of my fake DJ names as kid. #
  • Well, off to landlord and maybe store if I’m gonna make a cake. #
  • @Shurakai Nice car! Or appeared so going by. #
  • Was so much better end of shift forgot to mention I’ve never been so dizzy at work. Inexorabullied my way through. #
  • Val got really cool presents including awesome NEW clothes Deb got, so of course the hit is the Slinky. #
  • Post done. Back to the kitchen! Getting much needed calories and making space by eliminating residual quantities of potato chips. #
  • Ooh, I should try to watch Dollhouse online again this week. OTOH I should try to catch back up on Heroes and Chuck. #
  • Poor Slinky. #
  • @shartlen Sadie set her metal Slinky down on floor to go eat. The younger two apparently played tug of war with it. #
  • I love when a damaged Slinky goes all möbius so bending it back into shape from one end is fine to a spot, and vice-versa when it reverses. #
  • Sadie has noticed the Slinky. #
  • Kids more or less lunched. Maybe I’ll offer them the frozen stuff. #
  • Made mistake of saying the word “playground” in earshot of kids earlier. No intention. “Nice day” is relative, it’s still winter. #
  • Sitting on me bad. Up and down up and down up and down FAR worse. #
  • So wrong. Baby gets on me, naps, I fall asleep, later lay down with him, he gets up, helps sister get me up, get drinks, I sit, he climbs me #
  • Ran out of time to make ham w/o eating late, but pondering offering to make it to bring to grandma’s tomorrow. #
  • @sharone75 So we should show up in a little while? Heh. #
  • Maybe I’ll make burritos, despite no time to make beans from scratch, which is better than any brand of canned. #
  • Poor @neatlytangled forgot to tie her new cell phone to Twitter, which would help improve today. #
  • Gotta figure out what to do w/existing service we shared, moot for her, expensive all around. Barebones & keep phone for me, or prepaid? #
  • Don’t want to pay for more than another month, anyway, enough to ramp down ppl having her old number & transition me too. #
  • Apparently I have to guard the dishwasher every moment or he will take stuff out, with preference for kitchen shears used on raw chicken. #
  • Just talked to mom & grandma. Small pot roast & chicken tomorrow. Said I could bring ham but didn’t need, Skip that bring soy ice cream. #
  • @sharone75 Heh. That *is* bed, almost. We’ll probably be somewhere between partway through meal & partway through baths then. #
  • @sharone75 Bed can be later bc I am off Sunday, but they’ll still start pumpkining about 8 or so. Darn. #
  • Allergies put an amazing crimp in last minute quick meal options. Apart from it being drag we skip stuff like cheese on burgers, #
  • I hate taking basically all afternoon to send 2-3 not even necessarily long e-mails. #
  • Really need to stop and make supper. Can’t I go back & issue an insert into day several hours after noon command? #
  • Looks like tuna sandwiches at birthday girl’s request, chips, strawberries. #

  • Kids are doing their best to leave no leftovers. #
  • Plan came together. Sadie was suitably amused that I’d stored spice drops candy in my spice cabinet. #
  • @pixxiespaz Better. No coughing. Henry is snorffly, apparently perpetually. And not so teeny, any of them. #
  • Amazing how much kids will eat if it’s favorite stuff, served late, after they’ve been poorly fed all day. Barely chicken left for Deb in AM #
  • Kids want to sleep and I need to. Better cleanup in kitchen & get on with it. #
  • Apparently I need to remember to take my anti-grump pills tomorrow. Poor kids. Finally getting the bleep to bed almost 90 mins late. #
  • With their mom on a date tonight or at work most other nights I expect bedtime to go smoother. Argh. #
  • Annoying to wake so earlly after getting to sleep so late. Then freezing so laid bnck down.m #
  • Consistency can be good. Yay payday. Must stop for gas. tank lowerr tham thought, 8th vs 4th when I left. #
  • Timing: low fuel light comes on as I pull up to the pump. #
  • Silly kids got in bed with their mother instead of staying where they’d been with me. Day off yesterday or no, she still needs enough sleep. #
  • FWIW, and i know I shouldn’t weigh myself obsessively, I seem to be at 240 this AM, firmly enough to call it net loss of 68. #
  • Need to get to store today to shop for Val’s birthday. Figure out the cake thing. Henry is 18 mos today. She’s 3 tomorrow. #
  • Apparently cake with no eggs or dairy is not that hard. Seems to be choice of chocolate or raisin/spice cake style. #
  • Amusingly, one of the recipes has directions to make frosting to go on the egg & milk-free cake… using butter and milk. Doh! #
  • Oh well. Time to get kids drinks and stuff, since they have the audacity to be up. #

  • Wish the bleeping kid would stop bleeping climbing the bleep onto my bleeping lap. #
  • @jaysolo http://tinyurl.com/2yxd5h #
  • Yay for having a 2nd parent to dilute the kids! Sub for that will presumably be affording enough daycare. #

  • A good shift. Back doesn’t even hurt knock wood and ignore my leg almost betraying me one point. #
  • The cute! For once instead of waking & crawling in with mom after I left, V & H snuggled togther & stayed sleeping. #
  • On the off chance I’m still there in summer I’ll look like I’m melting and scare people. #
  • Warm today. After a few mins took off sweatshirt, worked in t-shirt drenching it in sweat the whole rest of shift. #
  • Need to buy a belt. Mine is so overlong now I noticed today it’s at risk of getting caught in machinery. #
  • Weighed myself several times this morning. Twice I got 239, which is a net loss of 69, with at least a pound of clothes on. 230s is goal. #
  • Reality of the weights is still probably a nice 241, net loss of 67 and counting. So yay either way. #
  • @elle6503 Since December 2007, most of it by end of summer 2008. #
  • Found mistake in crossword puzzle yesterday. The clue was “emulate Rachael Ray” but “be perky” wouldn’t fit in 4 characters. #
  • @gregverdino First time I read your tweet I read “uvula” as “vulva.” which made it sound rather funny. #
  • Still pretty warm, 40 out there, though sitting at home now I’m shivering. #
  • @Shurakai Yay, you made it! #
  • Was just going to say I should finish post I started yesterday, then Henry got on my lap. Big post. Probably need hour+ typing time. Heh. #
  • Explaining to baby that I *like* holding him on my lap… for PART of the day. Not all of it. Not wedge in EVERY TIME my keys get clicking! #
  • @sharone75 Well, Emmawee should be old enough to make her sister breakfast in some form or another. #
  • @phillymac Good luck with that! #
  • Hard to believe it’s possible to have this much pain in fingertips. Must salve them today. #
  • @pixxiespaz Ooh, the real stuff! #
  • Not sure I can bully this chicken into being thawed and cooked through in time for it to be supper before bedtime. Meant to start earlier. #
  • @caltechgirl Whole 7.15 lb roaster. Spent a day and a half in fridge. Barely had started to thaw. Patented oven thawing method. Still tight. #
  • Thinking about how I pulled off being one of most linked bloggers, then generated massive enthusiasm for CotC, & could I do the like again. #
  • Sadie seems to have decided she really likes Petula Clark. At least “I Couldn’t Live Without Your Love” via YouTube video. #
  • A blog friend could use help, if anyone is so inclined: http://www.alphecca.com/?p=1238 #
  • Now to check on the chicken and toss some other stuff on the stove. #
  • It feels intensely weird not to be texting back & forth with Deb when she’s not home, but she has new phone & isn’t in appropriate venue. #
  • Regardless of anything, she’s the one the random thoughts & ideas & especially kid antics reel off to as they come along. Feels amputated. #
  • The chicken may actually be done before kids starve, even if it pushes bedtime back slightly. #
  • Sadie found a coloring book someone bought her in France and is entranced, using it to inspire her own drawings. She’s drawn all day. #

  • @sharone75 Yeah. One of only 4 large Corel plates my grandmother gave me. She gave me more of others, but had fewer spare of the large. #
  • @sharone75 And I had no idea they shattered so spectacularly. Was about to put hot dogs on it to go in microwave. *Crash* Ugh. #
  • At least there are tons of other large and medium plates, including the nice “antique” ones from Bessie. #
  • Really want to do stuff, but kids are ready for bed and it’s close enough to my time, especially on maybe 3 hours last night. #
  • OTOH I feel all energized from forgetting my BP meds 2 days in a row. It was too late when I remembered today, and worse yesterday. #
  • Time for pills and water pounding on my back to try to make it stop tormenting me. And figure out what I am doing today besides dishes. #
  • I have a meme I thought of at work I’d like to pursue as a job hunting related exercise others might also like. Maybe go hard at that. #
  • @Shurakai Just realized it’ll be cake time for Jonathan too. #
  • I love spam spoofed from me to me. A bit over 3 hrs, right on target and save me from ppl who can’t drive. #
  • Still pondering what to do today, incl whether to bake a chicken I have thawing, as opposed to doing it tomorrow. #
  • Speaking of food, scrambled hamburger I thought was going to be bad after too much oregano poured in was superlative instead and probably #
  • that was due to extra bay leaf, dill, and caraway offsetting it. #
  • Anyway, considering Trader Joe’s run, shopping for Va’s b’day, just hanging out and working on the “what was cool” meme, fixing my desk, etc #
  • Back starting to feel almost human. WTF took so long today? Did a bit of business. Maybe watch American Idol clips online next. Or lunch. #
  • It’s all very nice to be hugging a low low weight & wanting to go down more, but total failure to eat, not always helpful. #
  • Also have stuff accumulated potentially for CotC, could tweet those today. #
  • @neatlytangled Don’t forget! http://tinyurl.com/cka4wu (Nothing new, just amusing title for you.) #
  • @Shurakai Don’t think so. IIRC the books were last trip. #
  • Apparently the 18 month old twerp is *not* napping, despite his best efforts to act sleepy. #
  • Someone holding a Twitter-intensive conference or something? Sheesh. #

  • Thrown together scrambled hamburger I thought would be bad came out exceptionally tasty. A shame Val fell asleep, I found when called her. #
  • Sneaking in a bit of business while kids soak in tub. Past bedtime though, so time to get moving. #
  • @EternalWanderer Sounds good! Only tried turkey for meatloaf once so far. Traditional egg is out in it for us now, as is cheese. #
  • Late getting to bed. Human SnailCat girl doesn’t seem to care she missed supper by sleeping through it. Woke in time to crowd me in bed. #
  • Congress needs its very own Fail Whale that says “economy over capacity” even if that’s not the problem. Then they can throw more $ at it. #
  • Oh wait, that’s their default setting. #
  • Can’t get comfy enough om floor to fall asleep tomight. Knees hurt. Bruised foot hurtd. Ribs hurt. Ugh. #
  • Henry just excitedly pointed at screen and said “puter!” #
  • Early day, relatively. Well, under 3 hrs is automatically light and early. Now back to the grind. #
  • Business transacted, despite being home, despite more or less caring for kids. Impressive. Well, OK, it was minuscule stuff. #
  • Bet I can’t finish the post I started 3 days ago though. Which has been partly obsoleted anyway. Too much time and typing. #
  • The practice calls me to verify that specialist appointment got made. I say didn’t hear back with actual *appointment* yet & was thinking #
  • about calling to clarify exactly what they are fishing for anyway. Would I like to be put through to doc’s office? Sure, great. 10+ Minutes #
  • hold time later, kid squirming on lap, other kids mothing me, I gave up for now. I know it’s a busy time there so not surprised. #
  • Need to figure out what to get Val for her birthday, and what if anything we will do about cake. No eggs or milk for 18 month old, remember. #
  • Speaking of Val, she was waiting for her brother to get tired of being on me, long wait since he’d fallen asleep til phone rang, for drink. #
  • @shartlen It’s very quick, as I recall. They did hours some months back. State law on meter age apparently. #
  • Called doc’s office back while kids pounded on my door until they popped the lock, right as someone picked up. Gal there is calling me back. #
  • But so much for locking the door to keep them at bay if needed. #
  • @sekimori I always especially liked peek, peak and pique. #darnthosehomophones #
  • Yay! Heard from doc’s office. My stuff is off to Boston Medical Center for neurosurgeon to review & then they will call for appointment. #
  • The *reason* is because my doctor saw “a bit of disk protrusion and that’s what’s causing the pain” and wants to see of anything to be done. #
  • Which is interesting in that discussion of pain was secondary or possibly not mentioned, versus the peripheral numbness symptom. #
  • So again with wondering if my doctor and I participated in the same exam/discussion. #
  • Kids need to learn to Just Obey in emergencies! Good plate fell of counter, shattered, “don’t move” mean run through the shards. #

  • I need a bed. #
  • Crazy dream about Prez being someone from Halifax I knew growing up, driving thru neighborhood & seeing Secret Service checkpoint. #
  • So you couldn’t even drive down their road if you didn’t have good reason. Which wasn’t their road, anyway, but one in more rural section. #
  • Dreams are funny things. And she was the Prez, he wasn’t. Reality is they divorced & are probably pushing 80 now. Very funny thing. #
  • Whereas Obama was born the same year as me. Talk about passing the torch to a new generation. #
  • Duh! Never completed CotC last night. I believe it will have already self-assembled as a draft post. Dern kids. #
  • CotC should post itself in under an hour. Drives me crazy server time in same zone is always 1 hour off. Now drugs & maybe back to “sleep.” #
  • They really could fit side by side without his feet on her head. #
  • Poor Henry expanded to fit my spot while I was up. Poor Val. Moving him disrupted her. #
  • This weeks (rather brief) CotC is up: http://bizosphere.com/?p=155 #
  • Kids are leaving me alone. I should do something with that fact. #
  • Acidman would have been 57 today. #
  • I should start doing creepy happy birthday posts again. On the blog where links work. It’s what reminds me to look at Outlook, see schedule. #
  • Be silly to miss an appointment because I never look at the calendar anymore. #
  • @chucksimmins I still wonder what he’d do with Twitter. He might be as fun to follow as @abigvictory is. #
  • @abigvictory Snowboarding? I’m too old for that. You’re my age. There you go. #
  • @MikeG1 http://tinyurl.com/2q9uy3 is another option, just add last two. #
  • @neeqie Just noticed you were following! #
  • @samablog Yes or some such equivalent. #
  • Started poking at tax prep today. Gotta figure out some of the C stuff. #
  • Funny, I enjoy zoning into it enough that maybe I should have kept doing it for $ for people, however few, however seasonally stressful. #
  • Are You Coffee or Tea? - http://tinyurl.com/clu4d4 - You Are Tea #blogthings #
  • Doc calling me to arrange a consult? #
  • Have to see a neurosurgeon in Boston??! #
  • They’re booking me an appointment and calling back. Just realized I better specify Wed or Thu. #
  • So the MRI showed probs, Doc wants it clarified by specialist. Leaning more “skeletal” than MS “changes” but wants to get expert. #
  • @Shurakai Lynn called about your itinerary just before the doc office called. Mom trying to plan a turkey dinner to help use all your time. #
  • @Shurakai All I knew was thought you were leaving on a Sunday & not here long. All she knew was it must be this week bc school vacation. #
  • I think it’s this guy he wants me to consult: http://www.tufts.edu/med/neurosurgery/weller.shtml #
  • I had no doubt something was wrong, but hie thee to Boston on account one MRI? No. Completely off the wall to me. #
  • @Shurakai If you’re lucky, it’ll also include a lasagna of 6 month old freezer vintage. #
  • Someone close to me once observed I put all my feelings & reactions internal and that’s where my insane blood pressure might come from. #
  • So I seem calm at things that maybe should freak me out, and I go even calmer in response to others being freaked. Odd sort of thing. #
  • Been on the phone so don’t know if they’ve tried to call me with an appointment. Getting kind of late day for it now, so guess tomorrow. #
  • @Shurakai srsly tho, suday is cake day at gram’s for val i presume so curious if would be that day. val is 3 sat. #

  • @caltechgirl Ooh, speedy service! I replaced a standard outside light with one once, but seem to recall it took waaay too long. #
  • Skittish about running dishwasher after it leaked last time. Not sure if it was reformulated detergent or something blocking drainage. #
  • I can’t read the container, type too small, so not sure if it was more concentrated & I used too much. Forgot to have it read to me since. #
  • After 9? No wonder lids want me to get up. #
  • Henry starting day right by mandating I hold him because I am sitting. At a computer. Why would I want to type? Or be alone? #
  • Not much for CotC this week. Forgot to update Blog Carnival so didn’t get spammed with crud for it. #
  • Got tons of sleep but the floor left me sore. #
  • Got the annual SS benefits statement. Amusing they tell you right there it’s underfunded after certain point & benefits may change. #
  • $2700/mo if I died now. Part of what I make now would still exist without me. It’d be like having a job! #
  • Illustrated/comic strip Road to Serfdom: http://www.mises.org/books/TRTS/ #
  • If I try to type an e-mail about ad renewals for the 3rd time this week & 2nd today, will the kids allow it? #
  • It’s clearly vital for them to learn it’s sometimes necessary to go to work or do work or do what you have to do, can’t stay home or #
  • not bother with it on a whim. #
  • Dishwasher didn’t flood. Managed to read package (eyes vary day to day or hour to hour) & amount it calls for is more than I ever use. #
  • So it wasn’t likely excess soap, though I had used more than normal when it flooded, almost the full amount package says. #
  • I love how they won’t interrupt tweets, as if they know they’re of no consequence. Unless I am working on CotC. #
  • I’m glad I leave for work at a time when nobody can try to stop me or plead with me not to go or something. #
  • Not sure what the kids ever did to deserve this level of grumpy. #
  • Ended overpriced phone service for old biz must have been 4 yrs ago anyway, still shows up as what’s at that number if you Google. #
  • I’d expect it to be assigned & show as something else. It was a cool, business-y number. Oddly similar to the one my father had at his biz. #
  • Keep wanting to use “Bond, Covalent Bond” on my chemistry geek nephew when I see him. #
  • Speaking of chemistry, not sure I’ll survive the BP meds, and feels like forever until I go back & get BP checked again. #
  • Just watched and liked 1st ep of Dollhouse while baby slept (mostly, til I woke him yelling at sisters for making too much noise) on me. #
  • Duty is heavier than a mountain. #
  • Sent e-mail about ad renewals on 4th attempt. It was a massive 21 words long. Guess I should see what kids want and maybe make supper. #
  • Haven’t eaten today because I couldn’t bear being hung on when I went out there to poke at food. #
  • Always forget giving them a snack can be like magic. #
  • However briefly. #

  • Mmmm… Outback. Mmm… Chili cheese fries. #
  • Goofiest accident ever. Thought the Lilliputians had me. At least nobody slipped on a stray Outback menu. #
  • @Shurakai I thought the takeover was just the probable outcome of reorg bankruptcy. We need cheaper launch tech. #

  • @sharone75 Nope! That was anticipatory, but she wasn’t out when I drove past, though other kids were nearby. #

  • @pixxiespaz Bingo! Figured I’d toss that out there and see who was puzzled or not. She thinks she’s Gary, apparently. #
  • @shartlen Spongebob Squarepants has a pet snail named Gary. He meows. It’s surreal yet cute. They’ve been watching it on DVD a lot. #

  • MRI at 10:30 blah blah see if I’m in my right mind ha ha blah etc. #
  • @annalthouse May depend whether you consider “river” to be a reference to “water,” or whether it’s “water” if it rains from marmalade skies. #
  • Hmmm… Understodd doc to be ordering brain mri plus what I thoguht was neck/upper spine. Paperwork seems to be about #
  • Spine spine spine. Also funny paperwork asks me to say what part should be imaged. May be brain is inclusive. #
  • Also symptoms on paperwork didn’t include everything. Oh well. Guess we shall see. #
  • @pixxiespaz Mmmm… Crackerbarrel. Must go again someday. #
  • @neatlytangled Ah, light dawns. #
  • MRI done. “Cervical spine” AKA the neck was indeed all of what he ordered, Jane confirmed. #
  • Odd as per usual he *said* different *at* the appointment where he decided to order the test. Same as prescrips. #
  • Augh, sorry for the resend of the last tweet. #
  • Anyway, blood tests looked normal to Jane but doc has to review them & say so, then message them to call me officially. #
  • Man my head hurts. And back and arms and even chest. Lessee… Gas and supermarket maybe? #
  • Almost 20 mpg this tank. And 8 cents below lowest price I noticed elsewhere. #

  • Fruit cocktail for supper delighted sick kids, even if they ate little. Hot soapy bath probably helps them. #
  • Tylenol and bed, after my shower, being delayed by someone doing laundry. #
  • @sharone75 We didn’t get homework as young as they do now, or as much, ever, but still never got used to concept. Slowness thing didn’t help #
  • @sharone75 In 5th grade when it started for real as math homework I was still having the prob of needing twice as long as everyone else. #
  • @sharone75 I’d take a test, for instance, and finish 70% of it 100% accurately. Hated half hr homework that took 2 hrs, math being worse. #
  • @sharone75 And 5th grade math teacher was one of worst subject/instructor matches with me I have ever experienced. #
  • @sharone75 Which makes me look at my physical probs as a continuum a bit differently than I had, with the last of it ending my mid-late 20s. #
  • @EternalWanderer Always hated the “only class you have” profs. Worse than “only person in store” customers. #
  • @phillymac Like it, but it has nothing that helps us. Or anyone who had sense enough to rent instead of being stupid about realty reality. #
  • That should have given laundry time to finish. #
  • Almost 4 hrs. Heavy, late stuff, bad incompatibles day. Fun to tear off nail inside a glove. Not eating bad. #
