Tersosity & Verbosity

Twitter Updates for 2009-01-31

  • Brought kids to mega lo mart, where my prescriptions were NOT sent by MD, so they are probably waiting at CVS. #
  • Left diaper bag at my grandmother’s. Was going to let it slide, then realized spare cell phone was in it & that’s the “I MEAN IT!” AM alarm. #
  • So in AM I have to go to BoA, CVS, landlord, & gas up the truck, but at least I needn’t run after the diaper bag. (Benadryl etc is in it.) #
  • Later I realized that, duh, MRI would also show if I’d had strokes, and that might be as much doc’s motive as anything. #
  • Anyway, kids are ready and I am an hour past time for going to bed. Better hurry so I get some sleep. #
  • @BeththePQ Blood test part made me think of you. I need to take a look at which tests they are exactly, though one is sugar, duh. #
  • Hell’s Kitchen started tonight? Oops. #
  • About the same, tho lighter day. Short on people. Had no time for coffee. Missed it but not as much as expected. #
  • Flooded with painkillers, back scolded me but only a little. Not like when I skipped them all yesterday. #
  • Whatever all that means. #
  • Tweeted my blood tests and appointments. They are not here, but one following the list of tests is. Great. #
  • Noting tests: 12 hour fasting for basic metabolic, lipid, alt/sgpt, uric acid, tsh, cbc with 5 part diff. #
  • Noting appointments: 2/4 9:30 Echocardigram. 2/27 8:15 BP w/nurse, 3/16 11:15 BP & mole removal w/doc. #
  • At least the Blackberry saves sent stuff so it can be resent, and voila, salvaged so I can Google and/or Beth it. #
  • @BeththePQ It’s likely to be right after work, too, when I am dehydrated, so that goes double. #
  • Liver damage is one of them. Another is uric acid, which may be for benchmarking before I take much hydrochlorothiazide, or gout. #
  • 100 results into “tsh blood test” w/o quotes and all of it so far gives “this site may harm your computer”? Earth to Google? #
  • OK, yeah… it is now labeling EVERYTHING “this site may harm your computer.” Including ones it didn’t a short time ago. #
  • @judis217 Ah, it’s not just me. Someone probably deployed code not ready for prime time. Live, from Mountain View, it’s Saturday Morning! #
  • Anywho, TSH is apparently thyroid-related. #
  • I had better get going. Bank opened at 9:00. Assume so did CVS. Wanted to let @neatlytangled sleep as late as needed. #
  • Not that the kids make for quality sleep, but it’s rest, and the shift change is rough. #
  • Hey, this is update 9999, so next one will be 10,000. I’ll have to join Overtweeters Anonymous. #
  • @danabrit From what I understand, a couple of football teams. If they wanted to make it interesting, they’d pit teams from disparate sports. #
  • This tweet may harm your computer. #
  • Heh. http://tinyurl.com/d7ln22 #
  • CVS didn’t get my prescriptions either. Yay. And only 1 of alleged 3 for kids. #
  • Mr & Mrs Landlord sure love to talk. Had to cut them off to get home in time for @neatlytangled to go to work. #
  • @caltechgirl Yeah, I got the basic idea from searching online. Be interesting if anything actually comes of tests for once. Usually normal. #
  • @caltechgirl IIRC the only thing high last time was triglycerides, slightly and shrugworthy given disagreement as to whether it matters. #
  • Noting tests: 12 hour fasting for basic metabolic, lipid, alt/sgpt, uric acid, tsh, cbc with 5 part diff. #
  • Noting appointments: 2/4 9:30 Echocardigram. 2/27 8:15 BP w/nurse, 3/16 11:15 BP & mole removal w/doc. #
  • @neatlytangleds They have 10 oz big kid Playtex for 4.99 in green. Is that same size ok price? #
  • Waiting for them to enter Henry’s ins card info and wade thru other customers. Yay. #
  • Maybe they went to MLM after all, else check Monday with doc’s office. Maybe he intended OTC for girls, too. #
  • Trying to work out whether I want to make kielbasa as sweet & sour, or some other way like with sauerkraut. #
  • Which led me to look at recipes and then at whether I could sub for commonly specified Dijon mustard. #
  • Could have sworn I’d bought a can of sauerkraut just to have something utterly different to serve sometime. Guess it’s sweet & sour. #
  • I should create a recipe so it’s about the same each time. #

  • Wow. Laid the baby down and he stayed put while I finished up here. #
  • A little over 3 hrs today. Light day but late trucks. Yay for payday! Now to be doctor nervoud til visit. #
  • Apparentyl there was a stone in the rice, which I found while eating rice and steak for breakfast. #
  • @Shurakai Ohio is a disturbingly high tax state. #
  • Perhaps being asleep for my appointment will mean a super low blood pressure reading. Feels like I’ll sleep through it. #
  • Buick stalls corning up or down ramps at speed. Low gas? Plan to get some anyway. #
  • Doc had my old ins still on record even though kids were all in there. #
  • Driving Buick really prokes the numbness and it didn’t go right away. #
  • So much for getting in quick. Poor Sadie is so bored. Didn’t quite have ability to play brickbreaker on Blackberry. #
  • Oor doc’s nurse just called in the 1st person to see him since we got here 45 mins ago. #
  • Switched chairs. The one I was sitting in made the numbness worst it’s ever been. #
  • Sadie is funny, shaking me to make sure I don’t fall asleep sitting in waiting room. #
  • Cute baby in waiting roomed named Rory. Bet mom was fan of Gilmore Girls. #
  • Wonder if @neatlytangled is enjoying the alone time. She sure is quiet. #
  • 190/125 on left. 202/116 left. Yay for exercise and weight loss? #
  • @neatlytangled Yeah. I kind of like being functional. At least if I drop dead of a stroke therejd be 2k-ish/mo SS. #
  • @neatlytangled I assume to change default pharm to MegaLM I just tell them so & we take care of details w/store after? #
  • 2 BP meds, blood tests, MRI tho he doubts I have MS but it fit and my sister does. #
  • This is why I needed to leave kids somewhere unlimited for time. Day just got eaten. #
  • Oh, the icky mole will be removed. Apparently it’s icky enough to warrant that. #
  • Getting to car at 2:01 from 11:00 appointment. Beside MRI I get an EKG next week. Woohoo. #
  • Bank of America in Stoughton is an abandoned, derelict building? #
  • @sharone75 New judge makes the show. Try passing audition videos at rickey.org to get highlights. #
  • This is grim. Ins agent sent us to Braintree registry bc it was close and this is last day. Standing room only. #

  • Bedtime isn’t exact;y on schedule, but oh well. #
  • How can the 94 Buick at 175k miles be worth more book for excise tax than 2001 S10 at 65k miles? #
  • Another short day on whch we will have generated astonishing productivity %, one of the daily stats. #
  • Exhausted. Feel like I am getting sick. #
  • This mornings cravings, beside for sleep: salt. Could be connected with the soaked T & sweat shirts I took off. #
  • Duh. Poured coffee into my cup then made drinks for the kids. A long time ago. And yet I am getting things done? #
  • Filing. A necessary evil. Not to be confused with filling. Necessary for pie. Not to be confused with March 14th. #
  • Let’s see what post-lunch kid cleanup is needed… #
  • @sharone75 Unless it changes, I am going to leave 2 kids w/mom Fri to extend time I can do errands besides Dr, even if Dr goes long. #
  • @sharone75 Need to go to Braintree & hit one branch of registry or another. *Might* be able to do Dr, Braintree, get kids, then registry… #
  • @sharone75 But if Dr runs really late, wants me to get blood tested, etc, then we’re safer. But thank you! #
  • @sharone75 Yeah, I was hoping Julia wouldn’t be too disappointed, as she’d have fun with them. #
  • Making pork fried rice for supper. Always forget how long cutting pork in tiny pieces takes. #

  • @sharone75 Yep. Appointments are 11, so we’d want to be leaving your place by about 10:30. They tend to run late etc so prob 12:30+ done… #
  • @sharone75 Then travel time or if there are errands, which may be, that having just one makes easier. May have that all done by then. #
  • Sadly, time for bed. After I salve & sock my hands. #
  • Wow, early day, end 6:25. 4eldom get under 3 hrs. Snow just starting to coat surfaces. #
  • Thought it was later bc drivers all arriving, but plan was to get em out early as possible. #
  • Feel spent & shaky, realized I skipped supper. Calories to expenditure is more direct than I”m used to with this job. #
  • How bad are roads? Got tailgated/passed for only doing 67, can hardly blame the guy. Almost normal speeds still. #
  • @jcaruso Yeah, holding refunds is evil. They aren’t *bills* you can’t pay. They’re “not your money” you have to give back. #
  • @Shurakai OMG you haz snow! Teh horrors! #
  • @CaseySoftware I like the tea party idea! (http://tinyurl.com/8oojxd for the sake of RT the link for onlookers.) #
  • All CotC stuff tweeted. Now to make lunch & move on from there. #
  • @danielthepoet It’s creepy. It only motivates me to question the minds of those involved or not at all disturbed by it.. #
  • AllergyBoy getting 1st stuff that contains strawberry today. He gets allergy tested on 2/3. Yay! #
  • @danabrit Seen that kind of thing too many times not to believe it. #
  • Darn, not sure the chicken is in fact good, despite the date. *sniff again* Yeah. It’s not. #
  • @danabrit They may not need the time if they have sufficient crazy. #
  • The steak with a closer date smells like the cow just parted with it under the customary duress. Go figure. So it’s burgers & steak tonight. #
  • This is 1st night of new shift for the mom unit, which eldest finds objectionable now she’s aware of it. Our days off won’t overlap either. #
  • Might make an apple crisp. Been too long & the denizens will appreciate it. Back to food prep… #

  • I knew I shoukld stay up then but anything I’d do to occupy me would disturb the kids asleep in my room. #
  • @neatlytangled Baby so restless be surprised he doesn’t bounce to you & mess up good night of sleep. #
  • Was thinking tonight about how odd it still seems to have gone from apt I couldn’t afford in 2003 to more expensive. #
  • At least that was the last increase, besides utilities ever rising. Heat was included in the “cheap” place. #
  • Pleased about waking at 1 for my 3:45 shift and attempts to sleep more giving me nought but a sore back. #
  • Need to setup blogging from Blackberry so I can even when no computer, spare you endless tweets. #
  • @neatlytangled Turning on a monitor so I could see to go back with them woke him to sitting up. #
  • I love being told I rock when I do, too. No wonder I like it way too much for a lowly job. #
  • Heavy day bc hub worked ahead to get more out before storm. I rocked. Probably most I’ve evr done in that timeframe. #
  • Hurry, hurry, super scurry… #
  • We managed to be early to the doctor’s office & Emily claims they’ll be with us “in a minute” a few ago. #
  • It’s nice when kids get old enought to help you. #
  • @sharoneay75 That is me and Sadie. Today is Henry and Val. Unless Dragon decides to get crazy & do all now. #
  • @sharone75 Prof dev day must be when they instill meanness. #
  • Forget the measurements cept Val 36.25″ and like 28 lbs. Henry 22-odd lbs. #
  • Fun: Potty run at doc’s office with 3 kids. #
  • More fun: Doing a second potty run. Amazingly not for nothing. #
  • Bored now. Ready for bed. #
  • Interesting. MMR has egg, like flu shots do. Baby was ok with that. #
  • Done. Bank and food I think. #
  • @neatlytangled He knows whole story of last weelk & exasperatedly doesn’t understand it. Baffled re what it might be. #
  • @neatlytangled Wow! Allergy test, right? He said he’d do that Thurs and still seemed dismissive. U=dairy=no allergy. #
  • Mina’s also has fries, just like BK. #
  • @neatlytangled He resisted. #
  • @neatlytangled Sadly, the old guy isn’t at Mina’s, at lkeast today. #
  • @neatlytangled Did run into one of the newer L&L lawyers there, BTW. He made a call & I heard the series of names, connected it. #
  • @neatlytangled He was the last one I setup for them on my watch. #
  • Well, Mina’s done and heading home. 2 younger kids liked my Mt Dew. Other will stick with lemonade thankyou. #
  • @MikeG1 Mashup: Everybody whips somebody sometime, everybody whips somebody good… #
  • @sharone75 Duh! Appointments are Friday, not Thursday. Does that change things? #
  • Worked OK to have 3 kids for 2 younger ones to see doc, but can’t picture me & older one seeing doc with other 2 in tow. OTOH they’re good. #

  • Posted CotC, edited out duplicate link: http://bizosphere.com/?p=152 #
  • Nice surprise: @neatlytangled brought me home milk and cream cheese last night. Cream cheese + Wheat Thins FTW. #
  • RT @douglassorocco http://tr.im/csfq Can toddlers learn from watching TV? Ours have seemed to but apparently YMMV. #
  • @sharone75 I’ll stick to figuratively dying if it snows Wednesday. #
  • Mailman list software seems to be seriously broken WRT bounce processing. Have to manually remove bouncing addresses or ad nauseum notices. #
  • I commented in disagreement at http://www.poliblogger.com/?p=14952 as I am not a fan of the 17th amendment. #
  • Time to get this day on the road. #
  • @sharone75 Just a tad. #
  • Going to Hannaford & Job Lot (remembered I need gloves) with at least 1 kid. Then stuff into laundry, dishes, fridge, paper chase, office… #
  • The purge/reorg of office room continued, that is, of which paper chase is part, but specifically need to locate piece of mail for tomorrow. #
  • And need to call my mother or touch base w/@sharone75 about leaving 2 younger kids for 2-3 hrs Thurs while me & Sadie go to doctor. #
  • Hope my BP is down enough to fend off drugs! #
  • Other than for checkup’s sake, numbness thing - clearly nerve pinch, line up dermatologist for baseline & to check already suspicious moles. #
  • @chucksimmins Sounds like you’re channeling @instapundit. #
  • @sharone75 Appointment is 11 AM in Brockton, so accordingly. They run late & 2 of us, so accordingly. #
  • @sharone75 That assume Dr isn’t crazy enough to just take all 4 of us tomorrow when we are there for 2 of us. He does that kind of thing. #
  • Have kids in toy section trying to get feel for what Val wants for birthday 2/21. #
  • @neatlytangled Sometimes they ARE useful to distract each other. Hard not to use emrg $ for pretty birds here. #

  • @MikeG1 Apparently vitamin D doesn’t hurt either! http://www.futurepundit.com/archives/005900.html Hmm… D fortified coffee anyone? #
  • Speaking of milk, I seem to be having a severe dairy craving, second only to the urge to eat a slab of meat. #
  • The meat craving usually hits in the morning after I’ve gotten home from work. Last night was off. #
  • Apparently Sadie has decided MY salt & vinegar chips are HER new favorite, so buying lots of honey barbecue for her isn’t helping. #
  • Cuz you should always eat chips to make a meat and dairy craving subside, you know. #
  • Silly kids. They get vocally opinionated with age. #
  • What next? Chicken is in oven, dishes are at a good place, did some number crunching, finished CotC tweets for the week. #
  • Guess I’ll clear a shelf for comics to be stored/sorted for sale, get that off the list. And other office cleaning/organizing tidbits… #
  • Also need to look into what CMS might be best adapted to a project that might not work with WordPress. #
  • Trying to imagine what in the world upstairs neighbors are doing to make that large machinery sounding/feeling rumble. #
  • Started early, too, as I was still in bed and at other end of house when 1st noticed and thought I was mistaking trains nearby for upstairs. #
  • Not sure why I go big when these kids would be thrilled with chicken, cran sauce, & maybe stuffing. #
  • Butternut, potato, gravy, green beans largely superfluous. Esp for the oldest and least for youngest. #
  • @listener42 But… but… OMG you had a drop of transfat and now you’re gonna die! Argh! #
  • @FroynLaven My brother seems happy with it, and it’s impressively reviewed. #
  • Well, my cold food is gone and kids are probably ready for attention in bath. Silly kids, not being self-serve. #

  • Youngest loved the pea soup. Middle one liked it OK. 4 yo is being a 4 yo. Me? It came out adequate to good, esp. tossed together fast. #
  • Sounds like things are actually happening in ER, besides a cushy stretcher being supplied in a prime location. #
  • Guess I’d better fetch kids from tub & so forth. At least 1 will probably go to sleep early. #
  • They’re keep her overnight for observation/testing. #
  • Frankly don’t think it’s worth trying to arrange kid care vs calling in for the 3 hrs or so work in AM. #
  • Baby is already dead to the world and disturbing him? Naw. Plus full sleep might be better. #
  • Hope they don’t take too unkindly to one call-in. #
  • Now that is settled and baby soother from brief wake and fuss, need to cancel her AM appointment & stuff. #
  • Slept soundly from 10:30 to 4:30. which is huge for me. @neatlytangled finally got a hospital room not a hall not long before I woke. #
  • Back to bed. Can’t go wasting the chance for actual sleep. #
  • That was a lot of sleep. Kids seem happy after so much, too. #
  • The whole hospital thing is silly and frustrating, it would seem. Shifts and priorities change. #
  • She’s getting an MRI with contrast, eventually, then coming home. And getting sleep, since there was almost none. #
  • @neatlytangled I hope it’s today! Sheesh. #
  • Baby seems mildly sick, but probably as well girls finally managed to wake him, since he was sleeping on me. #
  • So much for ER expediting anything. Arranging to run there w/o kids to drop cell charger & clothes, then have to arrange overnight for kids. #
  • At someone’s house, if needed. But calling brother who lives near hospital for just the prospective run up there now. #
  • My brother will be home 6 or just before so I can drop kids there, as far as just to run stuff to hospital. #
  • Just wonder if once it is that late we’re already at staying overnight territory. #
  • Yay! It’s all but certain she WILL be out of there tonight EOF #

  • Regret not goiong to bed about 7:30 when. I almost did. #
  • Need to fall asleep faster, sleep sounder, wake up cleanly with alarm, not fight bladder so long for crappy sleep. #
  • Felt like temp dipped dramatically this AM. That was 3:25! Which seems to be about the norm. #
  • Can I just say how much I love handling boxes of golf balls? It’s shipping season for them. Ugh. #
  • Can’t decide whether I like Ocean Spray Ruby Pomegranate (of all things). Saw, decided to try. Sadie declared it good. #
  • @Shurakai Happy birthday!! #
  • @pistachio Happy birthday! #
  • And that means Val will be 3 in exactly a month. #
  • Totally impressed that NP would pointedly call to check on patient. #
  • @phillymac Whatever will be will be, the future’s not ours to see. #
  • Talk about dating yourself, being able to remember watching the Doris Day Show as a kid. #
  • Trying to cope with my skittishness about trying to DO things despite the friction provided by Mr. 17 Months Old Yesterday. #
  • Should do a list, too, even if I am not a #dailygoals camper. #
  • That’s no lever, that’s an emergency room. #
  • @sharone75 Star Wars meets health insurance review meets worsened symptoms meets neurologist. #
  • @venomouskate Is hugging a unicorn something like falling on a sword? Ouch. #
  • @sharone75 And so it gets interesting, in Chinese curse fashion. #
  • It would be tragic if I could sit at computer without kid in lap, even if money might result. #
  • Attempt to snag $ done. Now back to housework & maybe even feeding the monsters. #
  • Guess I’ll make pea soup, even if it’s not what’s for supper tonight. Going to trying making less of a production of it than normal. #
  • Soup’s about done, not a moment too soon as baby never napped (else I’d have done so with him & been happier) & is getting antsy. #
  • Hoping the ER adventure doesn’t run too late or turn into a stay (unlikely, but hey) such that going to work, such as it is, gets tough. #

  • Doing the “e-mail back a recruiter explaining my *actual* AS/400 experience but promoting myself for other stuff” task. #
  • I’ve been a total end user of a terminal on a 360 then upgraded to an AS/400, trained other ppl & hobnobbed with the RPG programmers there. #
  • Which goes back to my helping ppl in my strategic management class with RPG even though I didn’t know it myself. #
  • Law firm client had old AS/400 I figured out how to log into & find old docs on when they were looking for a lease from early 90s. #
  • That impressed the crap out of them. Manager was talking about it months later. #
  • @WayneHurlbert Thanks! That’s a nice announcement. #
  • Ham mostly done. Time to glaze and make the rest and get us fed. Mmm… Ham. #
  • Love this supper: Serve kids. Call Deb to get hers. Gets seconds for kids. Serve me. Eat some. Potty duty. Start bath. Wash kids. Eat rest. #
  • Teh kids should be more than due to come out, now that I am done, and then put food away, stage things for getting out door in AM, bed soon. #
