  • Stopped watching Heroes to put the terrors to bed & resume watching on tape later. Works better if we don’t fall asleep too. #
  • @MikeG1 Vested interest? Maybe or not, depending how many people, actually learn who stood where and did what leading to current scenario. #
  • @PatrickRuffini ITYM 1776 - 1933. Er… 1913? Er… 18something? #
  • Well, dishwasher won’t finish loading itself, and Daniel Boone Davis & his inventions are part of another ‘verse, so here goes… #
  • Not quite dishpan zero, but went beyond running dishwasher to get mostly caught up. #
  • @Ryon_D It’s amazing how crazy people usually think you are for renting, with a crescendo during the “but anyone can get financed!” bubble. #
  • @Ryon_D Just noticed the funny rent numbers though. $600? That’s like 1994 rent. $1200? That’s reasonable rent, here and now. Sadly. #
  • Irate at gas station debit card practices. Why does $75 have to stay frozen for days after the actual $16 has debited? #
  • Also irate at the station that debits $1 temporarily, then completes the transaction days later for the correct amount… #
  • Having left $75 available for the 2nd station to freeze before the 1st station could clear. #
  • I should be sleepy. #
  • My homemade fries were awesome, but I burned myself to the point of blisters in a couple spots. Rosemary & garlic salt seasoned. #
  • Used almost 5 lbs of potatoes. Baby ate an absurd amount of them. #
  • Kids were crazy. Duh, cake, full bellies, baby had mass quantities of fudge frosting he can eat. Made it through Chuck, not Heroes. #
  • Well, off to bed I guess. #
  • Blargh. #
  • Wondering how I got on e-mail spam list targeted at medical people. #
  • Just realized I completely forgot to call doctor yesterday RE allergy testing for Henry. #
  • Pondering market intelligence research contract work. #
  • Or not. #
  • Right, I ate. Of course I am sleepy now. #
  • At least the 12-count didn’t go up 25%. Yet. #
  • Bread went up 35% this week??? #
  • I hate store discount card programs. #

  • Baby crashed out in office. Girls are determined to hang by office door being loud. #
  • @neatlytangled Ketchup is good on everything. #
  • Crazy series of dreams. Kids riding unicycles, thought bikes were quaint. Australia known mainly for tomato products. Stuff like that. #
  • Time to do a birthday post for Sadie, even if it mainly refs the original: http://accidentalverbosity.com/index.php/weblog/comments/1050/ #
  • Seems like no rhyme or reason to when Twitter does or doesn’t automatically tiny a URL for you. #
  • @AttilaGirl Fight the Verbification of America! :> #
  • OK, that’s done. Really just a post of recent pics & links to older posts. http://tinyurl.com/3tbc99 #
  • Me to Sadie RE her new dominoes: “You set them up and knock them down. Like southeast Asian countries.” #
  • Just tried figuring out how to play a game with dominoes that Sadie could grasp, besides using them as blocks or knocked them down. #
  • She won without having to draw from boneyard, but then kept drawing until all were gone & connected to matching # of dots. #
  • @ScottAllen Worked in a bindery 1980-82 where a couple of his books went far toward keeping place going. Massive runs. #
  • @ScottAllen Reading that one makes me think “hello muddah, hello faddah…” #
  • @ScottAllen Yes, him. We did binding of Where the Sidewalk Ends and The Giving Tree, IIRC. Nope, never read that. #
  • Lunch, e-mail, cleaning, cake baking… #
  • Mmmm… Cake. Wal-Mart’s house vanilla frosting? Does not rock as their chocolate fudge does. #

  • You like for me to fall asleep in your room with you, so you… tickle, kick, squish, crowd, overheat, and prevent me from falling asleep? #
  • Sorry kid. And I said stay in your room… #
  • Now what? Change places and try to sleep more, I guess. #
  • When did having a fire at a party become a dick wagging, show off how much money you wish you had, almost class sort of thing? #
  • Right, weather… #
  • 66.9… Feels like 95. High of 70 expected. #
  • Poor Valerie is heartbroken because she wanted coffee and I gave her coffee. SSDD is the expression, I believe. #
  • @ericasadun Which sounds funny, because butternut is a traditional yum food if you don’t mess it up or it’s not a lousy one. #
  • @ericasadun Of course, we’re about 2 for 5 so far for lousy ones since they came into season… #
  • Apparently didn’t have to hurry to get here. #
  • Anyone know what hardware PC-wise might be adequate for Cubase LE4 that’s with Zoom Handy Recorder H4? #
  • @Shurakai What was me? Found specs via Google on Blackberry. #
  • @Shurakai The Blackberry decided not to receive that one, apparently. Needed reset little while ago. #
  • Kids have consumed half the cupboard contents and bathed already. Peace has descended. However briefly. #
  • Seriously, 1 yo ate a hot dog, 2 helpings rice, 1/4 can of tomato soup, mixed veggies, 2 helpings butternut. #
  • Argh!!! I was going to swipe the help wanted section from paper at my grandmother’s. #
  • Old-fashioned, I know, but one more angle, esp. for a local side/temp gig. #

  • What sent us to ER? Pictures: http://tinyurl.com/4b63vz #
  • Ooh, just got a look, he’s way worse on the belly than he was in the picture. Ouch. #
  • @JusteneAdamec The doctor did say it makes them bounce off the walls. And he’d managed to stay awake despite the Benadryl. #
  • @phillymac Presumably you saw later tweet & post w/pics, but it was allergic reaction. By time he went to bed it was dramatically better. #
  • Time to get back to sleep. #
  • Hives are gone & skin looks clearer than normal. Slept like a rock until 8:30. Doesn’t even seem to need more Benadryl. #
  • On closer look, some of the worst spots have skin redder than normal, almost like leaving scars. #
  • @phillymac http://tinyurl.com/4b63vz #
  • @phillymac Intrigued by the Harding comparison, BTW. Perhaps he’s as apt a comparison as Carter. #
  • Oddly, I sometimes find myself pointing out ways in which Carter wasn’t all bad. Appointing Volcker, for instance. #
  • @robmay Love that Feynman quote! So true, too. Maybe that should be the real Wizard’s First Rule. #
  • Shocking! For me to take a quiz and be 86% social liberal and 83% economic conservative. Who knew? Heh. #
  • Would have been amusing to get 100/100 as happens on some variants, as the graphic paints that corner as “Anarchist.” #
  • Recently called myself that on a mailing list I run when someone thought I was a Republican. #
  • Just remembered to look at what Kyle is up to… #
  • About 60 miles off the Cape tomorrow afternoon as a cat 1, it appears, maybe some windy & a bit of rain. #
  • How is a span tag, text decoration, line through better than a simple strike tag? #
  • Love this heat and 1000% humidity just when we’re used to fall having arrived. #
  • Fundamental interconnectedness of all things, I tell you. Allergies, asthma, reflux, chitinase, salicylates, airborn stuff… #
  • Kids ate fresh pear - 4 of them! - and dry generic Rice Chex as their idea of lunch. Just realized perhaps I should eat too… #
  • Didn’t realize egg allergy can cross-react with chicken. Chicken is his least-liked meat. He also refused eggs if they didn’t have ketchup. #
  • I need Henry to age about a year NOW so I can work in kitchen freely even if he is awake. #
  • Hate when baby gets on me to fall asleep, pins me down a while, then toddles off. #
  • Gave Henry Benadryl preemptively at 2 PM (he says, using Twitter as sort of a BrainPal). #
  • Me: “You are the cutest!” Val: “I cutest!” #
  • That being my response to “I hungy! Trail mix!” #
  • Hardest part of controlling allergy food for one kid is the other kids. And his ever increasing height and dexterity. #
  • Kids. But at least it’s nice to be able to do dishes because another adult is home. #
  • In which Henry learns to climb out of tub, and that his technique needs work. Ouch. #

  • Upstairs people being uncharacteristically noisy tonight, footsteps and even banging… #
  • Like he was tweaking his construction project up there but trying to be quiet about it. #
  • @pixxiespaz What kind of math? And FWIW I did mainly like that in college maths. #
  • @ericasadun I just saw the squash tweet. A butternut? Sounds like it. Orange inside. I usually, peel, cut, gut, cut in small pieces & steam. #
  • @ericasadun ppl swear by baking or nuking, cut lengthwise, skin intact, gut. IIRC nuke cut side down in a little water, or bake cut side up. #
  • @ericasadun With maybe some butter or seasoning. Can boil instead of steam, sugar in water to make sweeter, can season when done with same #
  • @ericasadun Some are better than others. We’re 50/50 so far. I made pumpkin bread with butternut instead last fall. Different, but good. #
  • Kids were crazy during Kitchen Nightmares, couldn’t hear much of it. Bad owner in 2nd episode tonight was something. Reminded me of someone. #
  • Seems odd to be hot when it’s this cold out. May be the 100% humidity. #
  • Absurd night of sleep. NOW it’s cool in here. NOW Val is sound asleep. #
  • Val is up. Gave her ibuprofen in hopes she’ll be less miserable. Seems to have a sinus headache. #
  • hate being prevented fromt typing by kid launching into lap #
  • My favorite mouse ever was a Mouse Systems serial mouse off discount rack for $12 at Lechmere, low profile, flat slope up, slope down. #
  • Lechmere has been gone a long time. The mouse still works & is on my old P200 if I hook that up to poke at it. #
  • Back to typing e-mail, then feed kids. #
  • 9 eggs, and mine was the smallest serving. Impressive young appetites. #
  • Baby insists on not napping, while wanting and needing to and faking me out with false initiatives. #
  • Thinking about what to make for supper. If it involves the chicken I need to put in freezer, I’ll want to keep some out… #
  • @y2vonne I am interested but am liable not to see it. #
  • We seem to have found Henry’s threshold for egg consumption. He’s having a strong allergic reaction, most likely to them. #
  • Arrived. He didn’t fall asleep! #
  • They are dast her #
  • Allergist in our future #
  • Yummy prednazone #
  • And call doc Monday to tell him we need allergy testing thankyouverymuch. #
  • He looks like a red relief map of the Henry Islands but is happy. We are in truck to leave. #
  • He is sad to have shoes on and this jacket is way too how what were you thinking dad. #
  • Have prescrip next dose of pred not til 6 pm tomorrow only if he needs it, benadryl every 6 hrs meanwhile. #
  • Yeah. The last er visit followed scrambled eggs too. And he probably did have a small taste then…. #
  • Home. Hi Sadie in the window! #
  • I shamelessly tweeted on Blackberry from rooms with “no cellphone” signs during the ER trip. But hey, didn’t use the *phone* at all… #

  • Henry had brownies tonight, from a Betty Crocker mix that contains a wee bit of dry milk, and seems just fine. And happy! #
  • @JusteneAdamec That’d be fast! But we had turkey burgers, rice, broccoli, and butternut. Plus brownies. #
  • Well, back to sleep… #
  • @Shurakai Not so much, no. #
  • For some reason woke up utterly certain it’s Sunday today. Weird. #
  • Didn’t realize Galveston was in *that* rough a shape following the hurricane. Shouldn’t we be hearing the government should DO something? #
  • Domain registrars merely have to be less evil than NSI to look good. That doesn’t make them *actually* good. #
  • @robmay FWIW don’t forget you have an account on one of my blogs, and it’s the one most intended for that sort of steam release.. #
  • @robmay And whaddaya mean it’s not cool to have a caffeine addiction? Isn’t that like the only cool one remaining? #
  • Slept like crap and have that annoying feeling that my brain remains asleep today. #
  • Cool! Sold my 2 adult memberships to Arisia. Now for the 2 babysitting memberships, or to see if they can be converted. #
  • Coffee… Coffee will make me wake… #

  • @MaddyPumilia Maddy! #
  • Yesterday closed very last open windows. Today it’s obvious I need to start on the screens and sealing some with plastic promptly. #
  • Ah, the 38.6 degrees here after it’s already started warming for the day would explain that. #
  • Looks like that’s lower than any upcoming lows expected. Good. #
  • Feels increasingly like it’s 2003, but we’re on Twitter instead of blogs. #
  • @fallsblog Someone did a primer video, which Twitter used to link on their main page. #
  • @MaddyPumilia Sleepy, at the moment. Silly kids. #
  • Frustrating having the kids out of sorts, apparently because the seasons shifted. Turns my day to quicksand. #
  • I just remembered we had intended to buy a paper Sunday. Oops. #
  • Imagining Acidman on Twitter. #
  • Wow, Twitter hasn’t barfed that badly in a while. #
  • @JusteneAdamec Must be staffed purely by people who’ve never experienced an emergency firsthand or something. #
  • @sscullion Too late! We were on the user side of 911 earlier this year. #
  • @Ryon_D Or at least it’s brain that’s not brain? #
  • Okay, back to the kitchen while baby remains napping… #
  • @Ryon_D Ooh, I’d missed "Ginger Chili Marinated Shrimp" tweet. That sounds great! #
  • Lost my near-manic to digestion and warming temps, it would seem. #
  • Achieved dishpan zero. Now… fix Sadie’s computer, I guess. Think I have a plan for that, just have to unbury spare machines. #
  • nope, baby picks now to get all needy #
  • No idea what to make for supper, besides faster and easier being preferred. #

  • Heroes was fascinating. We even heard and saw most of it. #
  • If the power he got from Angela is what we thought he got from Charles, wonder what he got from Charles… #
  • @GoDaddyGuy Couldn’t afford to renew a domain on verge of expiring, tried trans, privacy stopped it, turned off privacy, still no, renewed. #
  • @GoDaddyGuy Almost NSI-like. Transfer still pending on other end. Presumably it’ll go through but was being slow. Just blowing off steam. #
  • @GoDaddyGuy Never tried to transfer anything away from you guys before, felt like I was in Hotel California. #
  • Kids are remarkably thorough about losing things. Living room got cleaned upside-down yesterday for that. #
  • Mucking about with my LinkedIn profile, declaring Carnival of the Capitalists officially over (without ruling out memorial editions). #
  • So Deb & kids leave for playground, giving me job/money hunting/making oriented time alone, and my mother stops by as they leave. #
  • Turns out my mother and I had similar experiences with "worst practices" in grocery retailing jobs. Funny. #
  • At least I got the air conditioner out of the office window & staged to go in the closet for winter. Now it’s time to ponder supper. #
  • Didn’t Grand Rounds start after CotC? If so, this can’t be its 5th anniversary. #
  • Classic mistake. 4 yrs = 4th anniversary. Starting 5th year <> 5th anniversary. #
  • Guess I have to rescue girls from tub. And decide whether I can hold the last of the pasta without bursting. #
  • @rachellucas Much like pig ears. #
  • Wow. My Vista machine was only 5 seconds behind time.gov official time. #

  • Heh. Can’t post a quick birthday when w.bloggar already has a big post mostly written that I was unable to finish yesterday. #
  • Gotta remember to call doctor’s office this AM, sooner probably better for getting them. #
  • Oops, posted a birthday that doesn’t happen until Thursday! #
  • Looking forward to about 3 years from now when we can make fuller use of drawers, cabinets, shelves for storage. #
  • Took age appropriate toy out of office closet for Henry. 15 mins later it is stored again, as girls were playing keep away with it. #
  • After I lectured them that it was for him to play with & I’d take it back away, when I brought it out there. Not so bright sometimes. #
  • Then again, Valerie *is* just going on 3. #
  • Cleaning cabinets with kids FTL. Had to fold the stepstool & bring it into office with me to sit a few & drink coffee while surfaces dry. #
  • Ooh, phone probably charged enough to call doctor. #
  • Wonder if I can sneak back into the kitchen & continue unmolested… #
  • Sad thing is there are more remunerative things I am excited about, but I started the cleanup & it’s important & like they’d let me work. #
  • Getting near time to feed the twerps. Maybe some cheese with that whine. #
  • Got Ball Park Angus Beef hot dogs on sale, worth a try & milk-free. Excellent! Henry at 3/4 of one, no sign of prob yet. #
  • Some brands are so infused with paprika it bothers him more. #
  • Rice vinegar overe the hill. Forgot to look up cornstarch. #
  • wish he’d sleep thrpugh #
  • congrats godaddy, i renewed domain with you cuz you wouldn’t transfer it. now you lose future business. #
  • It’s an eventual successful nap if you find yourself checking that the kid is breathing. #
  • Annoying. It’s time for supper already. Hours to go before I am ready for that! Chicken of some kind, I think. Random+leftovers or + pasta? #

  • Rough night with the baby. #
  • GoDaddy, you have got to be fucking kidding me. You WILL transfer my domain to another registrar. #
  • Well, back to bed maybe, and a deeper sleep. He seems to be out good finally, knock on wood. #
  • Snuck in a long shower and shave just ending as happy baby got up. And here’s Val… #
  • Another kid heard from and I can use my office now. #
  • If I can stand the smoke/ashtray smell from the guy downstairs. I really hope he’s transient, crashing a few during a move. #
  • Especially since there is parking for 8 or 9 here but his adding an 8th creates chaos. #
  • Of course, guy downstairs adding a 2nd spot used by that apartment is fine compared to 3rd floor using FOUR spots, one being my winter spot. #
  • Guy downstairs, who probably IS here temporarily while moving, is locked out of car. Been trying to get in for hour+. #
  • Looked like they had thin wire so I just offered a wire hanger, but they’d already tried that. Doh. #
  • Hey, I was able to type an e-mail! Though I had to ignore some crying and fend off demands for a sandwich “NOW!” to do it. #
  • The question is whether it was the fresh pear, the jam, or the peanut butter rubbed on face that mandated benadryl. #
  • Probably the jam, based on close observation of course of meal and probabilities. Jam is only all new thing. #
  • With corn syrup as its 2nd ingredient, no less. #
  • Benadryl preceded by thorough washing of the area is like magic. #
  • Apparently Henry killed Sadie’s (my) computer dead when he flicked the power off and on like a madman. Val’s has a bad CPU fan. Doh. #
  • I decided replacing Sadie’s power supply was easier and cannibalized Val’s for that, extra RAM, better sound card. But motherboard is dead. #
  • Or so it appears. #

  • @CaseySoftware Couldn’t help thinking: “Doc, it’s hurts when I do this.” “Then don’t do that.” I get the hard surface pain sometimes. Ouch. #
  • Achieved dishpan zero. Now to proceed with the rest of my day! Oh wait, it’s bed time… #
  • Hardcore sleepy. This is a Good Thing. #
  • Intrigued by U-Haul truck in driveway. #
  • The “nothing to see here plant” out back is gone this morning, presumably harvested. #
  • Confused, though, because son of downstairs people is parked on lawn, so maybe U-Haul is him, but it’s too big unless… #
  • he is moving the rest of his stuff out of his old room down there, or crashing with truck mid-move. Upstairs seemed too entrenched to move. #
  • 1st floor guy moving back in with parents would be worst possibility. 3rd floor moving, generally yay + trepidation. #
  • Catching up on pics of @robmay’s kid, having noted the link on Deb’s computer, using it while kids still sleep. #
  • @robmay Love the “why did we spend money on toys” editorializing. We wonder the same thing, even as we’re buried in them. #
  • @robmay Love the b’day one with YOU in it, looking like “why am I the one being filmed!?” #
  • Henry is up. He’s cooing when I play Maggie videos. #
  • Sadie is up, so I can have my office now. She was asleep in there. Hasn’t wanted her own bed since vivid nightmare a couple days ago. #
  • Kids ate like I hadn’t fed them in days. Now apparently baby isn’t planning to nap, just faked me out a bit. #
  • Still no evidence of exactly what the deal is with the U-Haul. It’s also possible they are moving her mother elsewhere, but they’re staying. #
  • Seems like a lot of capacity for that, though. #
  • Let’s see if I can do some work… #
  • I guess doing some work was too much to ask. I fear I am about to find a major mess associated with sounds I have heard & Henry’s nakedness. #
  • Yup. He pooped. So he got his sister to open bathroom door for him & took his diaper off next to potty. He has the association down. #
  • Mystery of U-Haul half solved. It’s the son of 1st floor people, who comes regularly to do laundry and fill our apartment with smoke. #
  • He’s carting stuff from near-full truck IN, including kid & baby stuff, but may be just storing it. Girfriend’s there, so not breakup. #
  • Hope he is only storing/staging. If Deb got home right now she would have no parking. Upstairs is using 4 spots, he is in hers. #
  • Kids get a lot of bloody noses. #
  • Apparently he managed to get up on the recliner & the thud & bloody nose were the landing. NOW he’s napping as I expected earlier. #
  • Managed to get more domains listed for auction & post about it. It all helps, if any of them sell. #

  • Ick. #
  • @MikeG1 It was cool at some point? Heh. #
  • Sleep would be so awesome. A day of activity not pinballed by kids would be at least as much so. #
  • @sharone75 My tweet about it was last night, when I first saw it. Deb really hated it. #
  • Had a mental laundry list of tasks brewing for today last night, like putting away AC, replacing halogen bulb, working on a couple computers #
  • I think Henry grew overnight. Maybe they gave him the wrong shots… #
  • Now that everyone is awake, perhaps the day can progress? #
  • The 1 yo just climbed onto the kitchen table!! I even managed to get pics. #
  • Hold it, should Ajax be saving us from the Whale? Or would that be Comet, the Fail Whale cleanser? #
  • Always wondered how “the blue dot cleanser” made the slightest sense as an ad slogan when I was a kid. #
  • Quiet. Wonder what the kids are up to… I know from experience how sad I’ll be if I wait long to find out, enjoying the peace. #
  • I sure hope I’m not smelling cigar smoke coming into the apartment. Better the pot smoke. #
  • Weird, kids allowed me to send e-mail announcing I’ll be moving the mailing list of former VB support people due to letting domain expire. #
  • Aw jeez! Sadie just dragged Henry in by one arm and deposited him with a thud, and he has no diaper on. #
  • Cigars: bad. Mold/mildew masquerading as same kind of smell: worse. Hope I’m wrong. #
  • First the Whale, now disappearing tweets. Cool improvements! #
  • Streamalum.com may be saved. Meanwhile, put 3 domains up for 7 day auction with tiny minimum bids of $20 each: #
  • CapeCodGeeks.com, MassachusettsGeeks.com and NortheastGeeks.com - Figure someone may want them & better than just expiring in a few weeks. #
  • Shopping shouldn’t feel like the big accomplishment of the day. #
  • Seems like tweets save/appear dramatically slower now. #
  • At least, if you haven’t tweeted recently. Local data caching kind of thing, maybe. #
  • Anyway, I could guess the Caribbean had experienced recent hurricane activity dramatically damaging to sugar production, from prices: +27% #
  • OK, beef burritos it is. Off to start the meat cooking and work on freezing the rest of what I bought. #
  • If you barely feed the kids all day, they WILL eat heartily at supper. Especially if it’s yummy & includes stuff they’ve not had lately. #
  • Poor Henry didn’t make it all the way until it was ready, got mainly leftovers, had to come out of bath fast before he fell asleep. #
  • Ah, success! My faxed WTF to MassHealth 1 week ago resulted in official notice of approval today. My WTF letters usually work like that. #
  • It’s odd, something about how Twitter looks & feels now makes me want to use it less, makes me avoid scrolling back many pages catching up. #

  • Made up some lost sleep last night. Odd dream in the end, realize now it’s a recurring theme, up north, unexpected snow, needing to go home. #
  • More coffee, then call doctor, and from there it’ll be a scramble to there by the originally scheduled 11:00. Kids. #
  • Not counting any showers or baths, I can assume an hour or more from “let’s get ready” to walking out the door. #
  • Jane was non-specific, but I am under orders to bring Henry in, period, covered or not, money or not. #
  • Just talked to Henry on phone. He was playing with it, so I called cell from house, put on speaker, talked from other room. #
  • He’ll probably be the phone fanatic. Fits being the charismatically social one of the kids. #
  • @seanhackbarth Counting from Bretton Woods? Less, if you make a case for counting from last vestige of any relation to gold, IIRC. #
  • Why do people have to be interesting when I have 22 minutes to stuff kids into clothes & get out the door? Sheesh. #
  • At least I already gathered up shoes & put them in safe place so there won’t be a 10 minute quest to find missing shoes. #
  • Okie doke, shutting down and getting out the door. #
  • 3 kids in waiting room… Hoo boy. #
  • Our doctor is Sadie’s quitessential devil so at sight of him it was her turn to freak. #
  • Well, we’re home. Kids are eating BK fries I got as a treat. Need to finish getting them rehydrated, too. #
  • Extended visit with big former client people and the people in the lawyer’s office adjacent to my old one. Lobby sign still lists us! #

  • FWIW Henry *loved* having spaghetti with sauce. It pushed the envelope a bit, really inflamed his cheeks, but from contact, not eating. #
  • Phishers are getting creative! But a worm in fancy clothing is still a worm. #
  • Can’t believe I will have to tell my 53 yo brother it is inappropriate to call at 11:30 PM if nobody is dead or at least dying. #
  • Got essentially no sleep after 2 AM or so. Which makes total maybe 4 hours or less. #
  • Wonder if the boy will allow me to do anything… #
  • Guess I really didn’t get sleep, if the 2nd coffee is acting like a knockout drug. Suddenly I can barely sit upright. #
  • @phillymac 3-4 more to go before the day is out! #
  • I don’t think I want to use our old medical center again because they’ve gotten too stupidly bureaucratic. #
  • It seems my best way of asking the doc’s office directly about whether I can bring H in just for shots or cancel outright is drive there. #
  • Girls aren’t awake yet, so it’s going on 3 hrs of boy who clings until sisters are available to play. #
  • Just editorialized at the automated cancellation line since they made it hard to actually speak to Jane or whoever is receptionist now. #
  • @phillymac I hate it when a plan falls apart. :> #
  • Wish setting kids up doing fun activity would give me more than a few minutes. #
  • Thinking 10-289 a lot this week. #
  • Seems like maybe IDE is higher than it would be if it weren’t phasing out. #
  • @phillymac Atlas Shrugged, Directive 10-289, government control of all commerce, etc. #
  • hate allergies! #
  • Poor baby. At least he’s sleeping it off and I can put him down soon. #
  • @sharone75 I totally relate to the nerve-shattering vm thing. #
  • Just spent extended time getting baby comfortable and napping soundly to sleep off mystery allergy attack. #
  • Now trying to feed girls and do kitchen stuff without disturbing him. #
  • poor kid. this is why we worry and try to be careful. #
  • at least i got to feed the girls #
  • My mother knocked on door, woke him, initially bad but actually worked to snap him out of funk. Now can I at least clean a little? #
  • @sharone75 That is the big prob I have with tech support via phone, both ways. I’ve written about the phobia before. #
  • OK, I love my doctor… once you can get through. Actually, his staff, since he isn’t there (duh, it’s Wednesday, I forgot). #
  • I have to call 1st thing in AM b/c we can probably go & probably get the actual checkup not just shots, thru some arrangement. #
  • It helps that everyone there is eager to see the kids. It’s anomalous to have such a family doctor in an annoying behemoth practice. #
  • You know what this is? It’s Monday. For us, Wednesday is Monday. Thus it’s productivity-free adjustment day. #
  • doh, fussing kid now on me before i could even go back to microwave #
  • Hate when a workorder comes and goes before I even see it, even if I’d not have taken it. #
  • Wish my head wouldn’t hurt. #

  • @seanhackbarth Dress shoes? People still wear those? :> #
  • If we’d named our middle child Inara Kaylee instead of Valerie Ruth, her initials would be IKE. (We actually considered Kaylee, FWIW.) #
  • @Shreela Imagination went wild when my brain took in “Cooked neighbors” with lag before registering “dinner” didn’t have “for” preceding. #
  • @listener42 We never considered Inara, just the initials struck me today. Kaylee, more kidding than serious. Too popular and obvious. #
  • @listener42 Heck, we considered Malcolm for Henry, if not Malcolm Jayne (which’d give him same initials as me), perhaps more seriously. #
  • @listener42 I always liked the name Kayla, and Kaylee is close without being obviously soap-connected, so it would have secretly doubled up. #
  • @listener42 Oh, I had no idea Inara meant anything else. That was *never* a name we considered even joking anyway. We just love Kaylee. #
  • @listener42 Unexpectedly, as we 1st saw Jewel Staite in Wonderfalls & didn’t like her via her character, Heidi. That’s acting skill. #
  • My brother just called at 11:02 PM expecting to get machine & leave message. Seeing time & ID I was expecting news of a death in the family. #
  • But no, I just haven’t dropped everything to price power supply & hard drive for niece’s computer yet. Things appear to have gone up a lot. #
  • Any opinions on brand absolutely to steer away from in a low cost, lower end PC case power supply in the 350-500 watt range? #
  • Price mattering, but not to point of ridiculous. #
  • IIRC there was an expose in which every power supply tested was crap and one or two were just a bit less outrageous, so may not matter. #
  • I was eying Antec & considering having him spring $60+shipping for 500 watt model, knowing superior brand reputation. #
  • I think we’ll be looking at grand total about $100 - 110 anyway, for power supply + big secondary IDE drive. #
  • @Shurakai Ah, this is Itel D845 board from machine built March 2003. #
  • @Shurakai Or like: “power 24 pin ATX with detachable 4 pin section” maybe? #
  • @Shurakai Hey, a good price! Seems like every time I look at Newegg I wonder what the fuss is about them being best prices. #
  • @Shurakai I was about to ask “shouldn’t we be sleeping??” You must be on a night job. But aren’t you running everything now? #
  • @Shurakai Also need an IDE drive to supplement the almost full 16 GB, looking at 200-250 GB in the 30-some range. #
  • @Shurakai Last time I ordered from geeks.com and was delighted, so I’d be fine doing so again, but no means tied to doing so. #
  • Almost 9:00 and a big 58 degrees. Hooray for New England! #
  • @phillymac Well, Tuesday *is* the day for Idol. #
  • Actually read a bunch of /. comments on the Hubble unidentified object and was amused, esp. by the one saying it was ball of single socks. #
  • Brain needs to wake up. Having trouble even remembering all I need to do today, besides generalized job hunting angst. Silly brain. #
  • Or smart brain, as the case may be. Not to be confused with a SMART drive. #
  • Wondering if House starts tonight. Anyone? Ith? #
  • Ooh, my coinage of ComneyCare is no hits on Google yet, so it’s really is a coinage. #
  • ComneyCare post FWIW: http://blogblivion.com/2008/09/16/comneycare/ #
  • I love doing a big post and watching blog traffic stop cold. #
  • Keep thinking I ought to have FTP as a right-click shell extension kind of thing. #
  • @sharone75 @feliciaday is in the 2nd episode, which she said is next week, thus my confusion. Maybe it’s 2 the same week. #
  • Thinking kids need lunch to chill them out. What to make…? #
  • @Ithildyn Cool! I thought it must start tonight, but wouldn’t have guessed the hour early part. @sharone75 will have to set Ryun straight. #
  • 99% Sure the baby can have peanut butter no problem. One more tasting & we’ll probably start including it in meals at will. Yay! #
  • @sharone75 You know, crashing & burning at 11, being allowed to do so, may be a necessary lesson for success when it matters more. #

  • Power struggling to stay on for some reason. #
  • @sharone75 Ours stayed on, but their was a disturbance in the grid, like trillions of electrons cried out and were silenced. #
  • @CurtMonash Setting time to future, then publish, should give it a status of scheduled & show it at the designated date/time. #
  • Almost achieved the nirvana of “dishpan zero” last night. #
  • My oldest nephew, Ryun, is 35 today! #
  • Meltdown Monday could refer to the result of the temps here today, as well as the toldjaso outcome of economic malfeasance and profligacy. #
  • So little to do, so much time. Wait! Strike that. Reverse it. #
  • Today it was our turn to have a power outage. Yay. And trying to tweet it let me learn I don’t in fact have until 20th to pay T-Mobile. #
  • Due date precession or something? Good of them to suspend it when in 2-3 days it would have been paid. #
  • Yup, there is no date on the T-Mobile notice, but the date each a new month starts is the 20th. #
  • Looks like it’s a nuisance “we mean it” where you receive but can’t send. If bank doesn’t delay credit cash deposit to account then today. #
  • @Shurakai I thought it was downgraded to troical storm by the time it got to Ohio. #
  • @Shurakai Christy’s in Plymouth was like that. Lots of outages, but never long b/c Jordan Hospital around the corner. #
  • @MikeG1 It is! When one of the frustrations of being broke is no impulsive domain purchases, you know it’s bad. #
  • Small towns are interesting. #
  • Friend who referred me to last job I interviewed for, from home support, thinks they backed off on hiring anyone at all for now. #
  • Electric usage we were so freaked by was actually month of July so may have included some AC. Barely used it all summer, though. #
  • @sharone75 Casualness of making a payment plan with MG&E. #
  • Thinking I should pursue job hunting/money raising related activities, make supper, then more, do any shopping, out of house stuff tomorrow. #
  • Okay, where was I? Besides installing new laces. #
  • @CloudySky That’s awesome! #
  • @CloudySky Doh! Assumed you meant “buy a ticket from state” kind of lottery. Basically anything else would be suspect automatically. #

  • Assumed Grand Central would let me record my greeting using microphone hooked to PC. Press # when done records SOUND of # in greeting. Doh. #
  • @JasonFalls Hello one in a second! #
  • What’s recommended for posting resume besides Monster but along similar lines? #
  • @margilowry That’s just wrong! You should have used cream cheese. #
  • @pixxiespaz Wish I knew where your site was to go look… #
  • @margilowry And I thought I was joking! Yet not so surprising. #
  • @robmay Mmmm… Meg Ryan. #
  • @abigvictory That’s a good question! And the space. Noticed we took well over 2 GB of pics in August. #
  • @phillymac Happy birthday eldest! #
  • @Ryon_D I often wonder too, but it all tends to work out in the end. #
  • @Ithildyn Hey, at least I didn’t suggest ricotta or pureed tofu or something. How can you go wrong with the raw ingredient of cheesecake? #
  • Val is crushed she couldn’t go to work with her mother. And we’re not going anywhere today. It’s tragic. #
  • Really wish Val hadn’t ruined both my spare desk chairs in an unorthodox painting spree months back. #
  • Debating whether to swap for wooden chair I can’t move as easily. Leg and back are killing me. And baby is playing in potty, yay… #
  • @MikeG1 I’ve found that happens all too often, though most of my experience is with lower end or older ones. #
  • @phillymac 4 Girls? Did I know they were all girls? #
  • @sharone75 Cool! Any insight you can share into what’s going to happen Thursday? #
  • Have a request for grilled cheese for lunch. Baby can have leftovers or whatever. Hope that’s not what made him so itchy last night. #
  • Wooden chair is going to require padding. At least. #
  • @phillymac Talk about outnumbered. Then again, it worked out fine for Mike DeWitt with 5 daughters. #
  • OK, getting the brats lunch and maybe I can do something besides tweet. Saying tweet tends to get Rockin Robin playing in my head. #
  • Henry is trying tomato soup for first time. Girls have frilled cheese. He has leftovers. #
  • Aren’t they supposed to be older than 3, 2 and 1 before they start eating like teenagers? #
  • @margilowry Doh! Grilled, not frilled. That’s a funny typo. Frilled cheese would be the lacy gently wafting kind. Probably Swiss. #
  • Kids requesting tuna sandwiches for supper. That works. And Henry seemed to be OK with tuna, OK with mayo, so I’ll give him small sandwich. #
  • @Shurakai Sounds like there’s a lot of outages going around in the path affected by the remnants. #
  • Henry devoured 3/8 of a tuna sandwich and wonders what other yummy foods we’ve been keepiing from him. Seems fine. #
  • 1yo just said “puter.” #
  • @CaptSolo Loved Dark Angel, so mad they put it in death slot then killed it to make room for Firefly, refused to watch Firefly originally. #

  • My cousin lives in Hitchcock, TX. Presumably she and the family are elsewhere currently. Visited her on Galveston 20 yrs ago. #
  • Was it Gail Huff who always went on location for the worst storms on Boston news? Joked to myself she’d be the one reporting from Galveston. #
  • Pot smoke blowing in window at 5:57 AM? You know that’s medical usage. #
  • 2/3 of kids got up early this morning. Yay. #
  • Oh, last night Henry decided it was wrong that he gets no pasta with read sauce & meat, so he took it upon himself & survived. #
  • Dumped what Sadie hadn’t eaten off table onto floor, helped himself. Was tempted to give him a taste, as it borders on OK for him now. Cute. #
  • Apparently electrical stuff is just the coolest when you’re one. #
  • Henry appears to have fried Sadie’s power supply with his antics. Can’t tell you how thrilled I am. #
  • Especially given his working out the concept of standing on things to reach higher places within the same stretch of time today. #
  • Put napping baby down in office. Go to liv rm to clean so won’t disturb. Minutes in, he comes to “help.” Delightful kid. #
  • Sneaking some time for the looking for work thing. Since, you know, I am. #

  • Didn’t make it through reading boy who cried wolf to Sadie before falling asleep. Slept well. Now freezing. 51 out. Left on office fans. #
  • That was unsatisfying. #
  • Waiting for a call and hanging out at Deb’s computer in an effort not to wake anyone prematurely. Besides me. #
  • Kids getting up in the wrong order. #
  • Third kid up and waited on. Still no “before 10:00″ call. Minor headway on resume composition. #
  • Kids insisted it was my turn to pick a video so I put on BBC Lion, Witch & Wardrobe tape. Last time it was 1st Star Wars. #
  • Wow. MassHealth really does appear to be bureaucratizing, understaffing, and losing stuff as a way to keep people off overloaded program. #
  • If you CALL MassHealth to ask WTF about the paperwork they didn’t not receive, you get a full voice mailbox message saying call later. #
  • So I will fax the local office. Yeah, supplied phone number is central, fax is local. Weird. At least, if faxing works from my MFC… #
  • If I have a stack of PDF or DOC files, is there a good free way I can e-fax them without having to make my device work & print everything? #
  • @CaseySoftware I really hate Romney. We might be having to wing it now, but how is screwing around with this & ruining state $ better? Yeesh #
  • Eh, probably too many pages for anything free. Let’s see what happens getting machine to work. #
  • Kids are being angels. I could so be working on resume now. #
  • H waited til i was done opening printing pdfs needed next stand and scan to get on me perchance to nap. #
  • 1 YO “asked” to poop on potty & I didn’t catch it until he was standing outside bathroom door holding toilet insert & grunting. Impressed. #
  • With him, not me, since I should know how communicative he has gotten. Late last night he “asked” for rice cake by leading Deb to them. #
  • We’d never have guessed he was hungry then, or would have a yen for that specifically. He was pleased with himself. #
  • Apparently 23 pages take forever to fax. #
  • Gave them a total data dump. Birth certs, age affidavits, 1 original & 2 new pages of pay stubs, all the Healthcare Financial clown papers. #
  • Plus a page of pleasant letter about the whole mess, help me Obi-Wan, clean up after yourselves and your parasites, you still have hope… #
  • Ah, here’s the rain! #

  • What kind of phone system asks name, “tries that extension,” dumps you back in main menu rather than voicemail? #
  • Yeah, voicemail is totally unheard of by the Firefox spell checker? Wow again. #
  • @pixxiespaz Yep, they are hard to get really thin, but that is the trick to making good tortillas. #
  • Phone tag. Yay. #
  • My mantra for 9/11+7 is “a pack, not a herd.” Keeps popping into my head. It didn’t need to be a crisis begets leviathan event. #
  • Feeding the rugrats and self, still waiting for callback. Once there are post-lunch baths as needed, we’ll be on a trajectory out the door. #
  • Finally got a call back… as soon as I had stepped into the shower. Now kids are crazy when I could be taking my turn as “it.” #
  • Meanwhile, no reply to my e-mail to the person, in a test of “do they use e-mail or just have addresses.” #
  • Kind of like the lawyer whose response to an e-mail is “please call us.” #
  • Kids are refusing to allow me to make a call now. #
  • @pixxiespaz It is a matter of consistency. It wants to stretch & curl, so roll flip roll flip as I need… #
  • Even if they come out somewhat elongated. Lots of pressure & I think nonstick rolling pin helps. #
  • Or do I use the french rolling pin for those? It’s been a while now. #
  • Thought our laptop had no battery life at all but just booted it up on battery. #
  • If your biggest skill or gift is being a sounding board, not coding or troubleshooting but giving others… #
  • Insight they need to improve what they do or better solve problems, what does that translate into for work? #
  • Not new or on things I know personally. Remembering helping ppl with work for subjects I didn’t take/know myself. #
  • We just got rejected for the MassHealth coverage we are legally required to have because 1 - they didn’t receive the documentation they got. #
  • And 2 - they think we make more than the income limit, which is more than I have ever made in my life! How can they say 1 and then 2 anyway? #
  • Henry’s 1 year checkup a week from today is predicated on that coverage existing. #
